Hey guys we are back and better than ever! Salmos is back and yes he is our new co host. we will definitely take care of him but he might make a few headlines after this episode lmao.
What's up, what's up, what's up? It's your boy TJ aka TJ with the sauce.
SPEAKER_07And it's Mario, aka MB Royal.
SPEAKER_01And it's Vic, aka VIC93, your boy.
SPEAKER_04And it's Salmos, aka Sam Smoke.
SPEAKER_05Welcome back to a new, another episode of Yam Pasta. And as you can tell, our boy Salmos is back again. Listen, he is officially the new co-host, uh, and the last co-host of Yam Pasta.
SPEAKER_03So no more.
SPEAKER_05Congratulations, Samos. Um, listen, before we get into anything, I we didn't do it last episode because you are a special guest, but I want you to basically tell the listeners just a couple of things about yourself, you know. Um so to you, my friend, you have the floor.
SPEAKER_04Mmm, mmm, thank you, thank you. No, no, no. I'm just a small artist, small independent artist. I love making small films. I like uh I like doing art, character design, character animation. Um, I'm into anything kind of in that entertainment area. I I love the ideas of movies and videos being like just a perfect mixture of all forms of art, you know, because what makes a movie is visuals, music, you know, editing, even the editing, like people don't think about that. Editing's like storytelling and timing and all that stuff. Like it's just super intriguing to me, like the ability to tell stories and stuff. And I'm really into it. I love watching movies, I love playing games and all that stuff. Um, and like having an opportunity and a place to talk about it all. Like, that's what I'm looking for. That's what I'm excited about. That's why we called you in.
SPEAKER_06Yes, that's why. We had to get an expert. We had to say, break some stuff down.
SPEAKER_05You know, I'll serious. Uh I'll say this. Um, when you started doing your videos on Instagram, um, and you can shout out your actually, Salmos, shout out your Instagram page.
SPEAKER_04I was just about to say, shout out to Salmos uh underscore double R. Uh got a brand new video out now. Review out now, hot and fresh. Go check it out.
SPEAKER_05Yes, the mummy. Yes, sir. Um, so basically the reason why I think all three of us, me, Vic, and Mario, agreed to kind of like bring you in is because we, first of all, you did a review with Mario. Um, you know, we all saw that.
SPEAKER_02That's true. Probably.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Um, yeah. Um But no, the reason why like we all pulled you in is basically is like just your uncanniness to really give a direct, and I mean direct, like, rating on just different films, you know what I'm saying? And go against the grain of what everyone thinks about certain films, like you go in detail, so that's what I love, TJ still loved about um your reviews. So yeah, and uh I'm happy that you are officially a part of Yan Pasta uh from the Family Reunion Network. So yeah, we are here. Make me blush, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Make me blush. I feel like many reviewers with your style, I feel like it's you there's almost like a fear that I get watching reviewers like that because I'm like, oh man, like they're gonna they're gonna like pick this apart, but then at the end of it, you're like that makes so much sense. And like if there's a movie that can get in your good graces, you know that shit is going to be a banger. You know what I mean? So it's like it's like understandable because like I'll I'll be I'll be watching a movie and be like, man, that was great. That was really entertaining. And I'm glad it was entertaining, but then when I'm when I'm like, you know, mend on it a little, mesh on a little bit, process it. Yeah, when I process it, and then I'm like, I'm like, man, I wonder if I missed anything. And then I go to these reviewers and they're like and I'm like, okay, okay, okay, okay, well, hold on, let's let's hear about and then they they name things I'm like such a good point. I hate that they did that. Let's bring that score down. Or I love that they did that, that deserves like an extra point. So I feel like I feel like there needs to be a lot of because there's so many reviewers out there, bro, that are just like fanboys that are just like, oh, I'm a fan of that dude. It was a nine. Well, it's like possible fans. Okay, we'll we'll get there, we'll get there, we'll get there. No, no, I do okay. I I will say I season one and four, bro. Season two and three, I am a hater of two and three. I will say that. I will say that I'm a hater two.
SPEAKER_04I also agree.
SPEAKER_07But but yeah, there's so many fans that are like, especially in like huge fandoms, and I'm not saying like necessarily any any certain thing, but there's like it's big in the Star Wars fan where it's like, go out and see this, go Star. Like, bro, I have Star Wars in my veins, but some of those fans are like, go see it, and I'm like, brother, I could have made that in an afternoon. Holy like, nah, why are we shouting this out? But like, you need to see a different perspective. Yeah, and so yeah, so when when so when a piece of media can get can get through to like people like you, then I instantly am like, I have to see this. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I'm also you come from Yeah, well, like you just need that balance. I feel like it's also important to have that, yes, uh, like there's some like movies that need to be or like that are critiqued kind of harshly, and it's like, oh, you know, the pacing is off, or this or that. Um, but I feel like another part of movies that I try to factor in with my reviews at least is like at the end of the day, did I have a good time watching it? Like it's supposed to be an form of entertainment. Like, did I have a good time? For sure. What did I even just watch?
SPEAKER_03I mean, but I escaped. But I had escaped. I wasn't in my head, I was in the Mario Galaxy.
SPEAKER_02I was I was in the whatever was happening.
SPEAKER_03Nothing.
SPEAKER_02It was a bunch of bright colors and flashing lights and random noises.
SPEAKER_03Mario Tick. But I was locked in. Yeah, for real. Yeah, for real.
SPEAKER_01I think it's good that we got perspectives from you know you and the creator aspect of it, like making films and knowing how things get put together, and also from a fan's perspective, too, just sitting back and just watching it. And like you can say, oh, this movie was great, or this movie was terri was terrible, but it was a good watch. Like, just to have those different takes and those different perspective uh perspectives, I just I think that's what makes Yam Pasta great. So yeah, yeah, great addition to the team, my boy.
SPEAKER_05Yes, in the last edition. Um yeah, yeah, keep saying that. We're gonna keep on saying that because let me tell you something. We are done. We are done. Well, I got my homeboy.
SPEAKER_07Sorry. And I'm I'm number 90, aka I'm posting 2030.
SPEAKER_042030. It's like a big circle. We we get one of those, uh, we all meet in the same room. We get like one of those like 360 cameras, we all sit around in a circle to be our podcast experience.
SPEAKER_05Welcome back to Yam Hampton. Yeah, we're gonna have virtual interviews. Yeah, I got 18 people.
SPEAKER_06I'm done. Guardian of Yams, yeah, Yock Hampton.
SPEAKER_05Well, speaking of uh Yam Pasta, let's get into it. Um, first thing on the agenda. Oh, before we get into it, our email is yampastapod at gmail.com. For everyone else that's listening, and we'll be listening to this because I know everyone's out there saying Michael right now, but when you listen to this podcast, our email is yampastapod at gmail.com, and we will be getting into Michael uh at the end of the podcast. I know some people haven't seen it. I've seen it. Uh we're not gonna give you any spoilers, but we will I will give you my rating on it. How about that? I will also give you my rating on the I see this.
SPEAKER_04Also, is there is there a video to this podcast too?
SPEAKER_07Uh yeah, this is like a video portion.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Oh, like this is like recording right now, too?
SPEAKER_07It's recorded right now, bro. So I can like do a dance and people would be wow. If we did a dance, then I could moonwalk right now. It would clip it and then we would only use that for promotion.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we would use Hey, come listen to this podcast. This guy does a funny dance.
SPEAKER_07It's your dub hating on Invincible while you're doing the moonwalk.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah. Riverside would clip it and we would use it.
SPEAKER_07I just didn't think the animation was that good. It could be better.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02But it's like instead of me moonwalking, it's just like a PNG of me like the moonwalk tweets.
SPEAKER_05It's like as you can tell, guys, Somos and Mario are in the same room, and they are literally looping into the shit right now.
SPEAKER_07But at what cost? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Honestly, all I see is pros from this. I see pros. So one of these days, it's gonna be all of us. Yes.
SPEAKER_07And I'll tell you what, yam fucking pasta is gonna be in these bright ass letters behind us. It's gonna be seats are gonna be like massaging like pasta and yam color. I don't know how we're gonna get it. We need to email us a check for a million dollars.
SPEAKER_05We don't even need that. We we just need a small production company to just like 100%. Yes, that's it. We need a small production company to pay for that, and we're good. We we we're the show. We are the show, we're the talent. Okay.
SPEAKER_06So that's it.
SPEAKER_05All right, also, can I still please get my shirt? Yes, you can get your shirt.
SPEAKER_00I have this shirt like a year. A year and a half ago. A year and a half ago.
SPEAKER_05I've had dreams about this shirt. Literally, it well, Mario, listen, Mario does not bring it up, and I'm just like, oh, I don't bring it up.
SPEAKER_07Although I will say, bro, my merch idea is gonna be so good. With like I got I got some I got a hoodie idea, bro, like a nice brown, and then we got like we got I'll tell you, I'll tell you about it.
SPEAKER_05Because the yams, the yams, the yams is basically me, Vic, and you salmos, and uh the pasta is basically it's just me. I need more Italians in here.
SPEAKER_01Let's get it, let's get the post-it up. Oh god. Search for talent. Listen, um, I bring an entire.
SPEAKER_07All right, guys, so new additions to Yam Pasta. I brought 30 Italian guys I found in Brooklyn. Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_05That's a fucking mob. Jesus mob is fucking awesome. Oh my god. Next.
SPEAKER_02Not him.
SPEAKER_05Not it, not it. Let's talk about the the uh first thing on the list, my boy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Stop killing the games. Uh we got some updates. Mario, you want to share what we got?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so basically, this guy, you know, and I I talked about this for a while in terms of this uh kind of idea of awful game companies sort of shutting down our access once they decided just, you know, we're done with this game. So it it all started. The the catalyst, at least for the Stop Killing Games movement, was this video game called The Crew, which was a Ubisoft racing title. Now, whether or not you bought the crew digitally or even if you went so far as to buy the crew physically on a disc, uh at a certain point, they shut down the servers in a way that if you went out and found the disc at, like, let's say uh a secondary store, and you put that shit in your console, it would literally not work. It would not work, and this has been a big problem in the gaming industry for a while, especially uh with the digital age, because game companies can just decide, hey, I know you bought that game a while ago, we don't really feel like uh supporting it anymore, so we're gonna cut it off without any sort of offline ability. So this one guy got so fed up that he started this movement called Stop Killing Games, and it was based on this instance of the crew one shutting down. Anyways, he's been gaining so much traction, so much support from the gamers who are sick of buying a game and then it's shutting down. So now uh now uh you know it's unfortunate that the crew uh uh will probably not get support ever again. However, Ubisoft has recently kind of bent the knee a little bit with the crew too, which is kind of a legacy title at this point because there is kind of a third crew game. So uh long story long, Ubisoft has just tweeted we will be adding offline modes to the second crew. Uh and I think they're also being currently sued uh as well during this. So, you know, what started as oh, we can't do that, like it's it's not possible to do that, is now oh, we're being sued, we can absolutely do that. So hopefully, if this becomes like a widespread legal matter, games will actually honor your purchase so that in 10 to 15 to 20 years you bought a game, it still works. So that's pretty much the the you know the rub when it comes to stop killing games movement. This is ongoing, but um, I think it's something super cool because like, dude, when you pay money for a game and a game company shuts it down, that just seems like delayed theft.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_07In my opinion. That's what I was thinking. You know what I mean? Delayed theft. And then people get mad at other people for pirating games, and it's like, well, you know, you just said that in your contracts it says that you know, if I buy this game, I don't own this game. It's like, well, how is that fair? I should be able to own this game. So the stop killing games thing is kind of like I buy a game and I get to I get to keep the game and I get to play the game.
SPEAKER_04I'm just thinking first of all, I also I I agree. Like you buy a game, I don't I don't know what else I was supposed to say. Like I bought it, it's mine, I have it. But then again, I'm also thinking if the game because I like obviously correct me if I'm wrong, but most of the games that are shutting down are the ones that aren't getting played as much.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, well, it's it's if they're you know, if it's like 10 years old and it's like being shut down, or like and not a lot of people play online or anything like that.
SPEAKER_04But he is saying specifically online games too, right?
SPEAKER_07Uh especially yeah, it's it's very much online games as well. But I think the big thing is like it should be legally required to have some sort of a playable mode.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07If the game is decided, if they're just gonna spend money on the if they're deciding to shut the servers down, because some games literally are so online attached that I if I put in a disc, it doesn't even get me past the main menu. Nah. And I think that's bullshit. Yeah, the other thing. Like you should sure, shut it down, make me make it so I don't play with people ever again on it. That's fine. Don't spend the money on servers. But before you shut it down, give me bot lobbies.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, let me let me play fake computers. Like I get I get shutting down a game because at this point the company's losing more money keeping the servers on because nobody's playing it. But at the same time, it's like I did also buy the game. Yeah. Give me have something there. And I think that's why a lot of the games that are multiplayer now are free, like Fortnite, Apex, Overwatch, whatever. For sure. They're all free because it's like that is the game. And then they get they get their money from microtransactions and whatever.
SPEAKER_07And that's and yeah, and those those games do have a lot of like internal like sub-games too. But I will say this if they're gonna shut those games down, I hope I can at least play other modes. Because the amount of money I have in skins in that game, bro, is like I at least want to watch that money.
SPEAKER_04Dude, I ain't I ain't gonna lie. I spent maybe over a grand on Apex Legends, and I don't even play that game anymore. Bro, I don't even have that game downloaded on my PlayStation.
SPEAKER_07I've been off my Fortnite grind right now a little bit, but I think I have I think I'm hitting two bands.
SPEAKER_01And that should be that should be bare minimum when you make a game.
SPEAKER_04I said I can do the moon walk as Ice Spice. Yeah, I look like tongue tongue tongue so I can do the orange justice as Darth Vader.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but yeah, Vic, you're so right.
SPEAKER_01You should be able to like, yeah, if you the server should come second, right?
SPEAKER_07That's what I'm thinking. Yeah. Well people that's the thing And that should be it, that should be a present, right? Like if you're if you're if you're a gaming company and you want to be lazy with it and you don't want to worry about it later, come out with an online mode. Also, one reason that the Xbox One got so shit on when it was coming out is because they tried to make it so online that when people asked them, they literally asked the like the head of Xbox Gaming at the time, they were like, Hey, well, what do we do if you know like if most of the world doesn't have good internet, what do we do? And he said, Oh, well, there's an Xbox 360 for you. And he caught so much flack. Because you think about it, that's a good thing. And rightfully, you think about the you think about the world, bro. Most of the world doesn't have good internet. Most of the world?
SPEAKER_05No. No, we know you're right, you're right on that.
SPEAKER_07Like a lot of the We're very lucky to have, you know, the connection that we have.
SPEAKER_05To live in an area that has connection.
SPEAKER_07But some people they ran a console, they have it shipped in, they they don't have an internet tower for hundreds of miles. It's like these people, you know, deserve to have some games too. So, you know, saying that you're just coming out with like a you know, it's a control thing, right? You you have all the power, but I just paid you $70. You know, so it's like, come on. Uh so yeah, stop killing games movement. Check it out if you haven't. This is a huge W for the average gamer and just the consumer in general, you know. We need more consumer rights, I think, especially in this country. So, you know, just just going from that, it's like it definitely helps out the the little guy here. So good on Stop Killing Games.
SPEAKER_01Samos Mario, before we move on, I want to ask y'all, because y'all kind of touched on it. So for free games like Fortnite, like um and other games with free to play, what would you suggest would be a resolution if they were to shut it down? If you're like a consumer that spent money like microtransactions and stuff like that, would you be like, oh well, uh it was free game, so if they shut it down, I just took an L.
SPEAKER_07Or I I I think you have to have some I think if anything, you have to have whatever mode, I mean, except for maybe like I mean, maybe you can have like a window of like downloadable time if you want to create like uh like if some some Joe Schmoe made a map you really like, you have like a window of downloading. But in terms of the core game, you should be able to play all of those main modes offline with bots with your skin, I think. If they're shutting down the main thing, like let me play Battle Royale with a hundred bots, you know, let me play the you know, uh like save the world mode.
SPEAKER_01But would the game then be able to come back and charge you for a purchase since you're not, you know, because originally it was released as a free-to-play online game. So if they go back and make an offline mode.
SPEAKER_07No, not really. I don't I don't think so. I think that's the risk they take, which is fine because so many companies I mean you think about it this way, uh unless you're a really small company making a free to a freemium game, which is so rare, most of these companies are multi-billion dollar conglomerates. You know, they're coming out with Fortnite and Apex and all this stuff. Because if they're trying to chase a trend, they're mostly big enough to be able to to take the loss on it. Because like you think about Concord, that game costs 400 million dollars. You can afford to make it offline.
SPEAKER_04And they pull the plug like in less than a month or something.
SPEAKER_07Less than a month, yeah, or like six weeks maybe max. But like, no, they because also just no, they they should have to that should be there's so many things that can screw over, I feel like, consumers. We should get a win, and that's the risk you take. Making a free-to-play game. Be like, we need to come out with an offline mode, like we need to have good bots. I feel like I feel like um making good bots is not as hard as making a game that can have servers to run a free-to-play game. You know, I feel like that should be the bare minimum in gaming.
SPEAKER_04The thing is, I agree.
SPEAKER_07I don't know, whatever you think.
SPEAKER_04The thing is for me, like, I'm trying to I'm trying to imagine if I was still into Apex and the game was dying, and I was like, oh, but I'm still into it and I still want to play it. Would I still play it if I knew that they were all bots? Yeah. Because I'm thinking in my head, like, oh my cause I'd want to still play the game.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But it it like, let's say in this hypothetical scenario that's going on, I still want to play the game because of all the money I Spent on it and because of the skins or whatever, I'd want to play the game to like at least for me, I would show off my skins because there was like a thing where it's like, oh, you could be a there was like a leaderboard, and so whenever you killed someone, or if you won a game, like everybody saw your banner and everybody saw your skins or whatever. Uh so I'm like, would I even play the PvP mode that for that long for long enough that it would be worth it to even keep the game? And then also I'm thinking I feel like it is kind of also just the roll of the dice. You got the free game, you went, you paid for the money for these skins. Now the game isn't popular, nobody plays it anymore. It's kind of like it's kind of like clothing, you know. I go and I buy all this clothing because it's in style, and then it's not style anymore, and I have to give it away like goodwill or whatever. Like I just lost it on that money, but yeah, I guess.
SPEAKER_07But like the thing is, you're I mean, in this specific instance, you're talking about EA.
SPEAKER_04If EA can't make a fucking offline mode with like, you know, or they release Titanfall 3, and then I can keep all the skins from Apex Legends and put them on my Titanfall 3 character. Please release Titanfall 3.
SPEAKER_07How dare you release Titanfall 2 in the same fucking like year as Battlefield 1, giving it no press. But no, I think they should, I don't know, man. I think they should at least give you some bullshit offline mode with like a bunch of different bots at skill levels. Yeah. Because like you can make you're there's so many of these companies are so big. Just do it. Just just do like bare minimum. But I get I get it. It's like if you're rolling the dice, I think everyone is rolling the dice going into free-to-play games. However, offline modes, being able to play a game you put any amount of money into.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Maybe it's just for the people who spent money. All the default skins, no, whatever. But like still, I think it should be like, you know, uh, it's also preservation, man. Game preservation and just media preservation in general shouldn't be lost to time.
SPEAKER_04Ah, I see what you're I actually do agree. I see what you're saying, because it is super cool being able to go back and see like Yeah, like what was around. Yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_07Like I have I have old consoles, like, and a lot of games are just literally lost to time, can't be emulated, and it's like like I bought so many games on my 360 right before no, well, very rarely are some like exclusive, but like before the store just left forever. So it's like some of these games are just gonna be gone. Yeah, you know, so it's crazy.
SPEAKER_01But isn't it funny how we're kind of going backwards now? Like we got games like Call of Duty and Battlefield that made online free-to-play uh versions, and they're normally, you know, physical, offline. I mean, they've been had online mode, but they're mainly, you know, started as uh offline, like campaign-based type of game. So uh it's interesting to see like they're starting to get on board with that, and they're kind of double dipping. Like you can pay to get this game if you want this other shit, or you can just pay this for free, and it's bringing people who probably never played it on because they're like, oh, it's free. I can just download Battlefield Wreck, or I can just bottle uh download Warzone and get in that way.
SPEAKER_06So for sure.
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_04Interessante.
SPEAKER_07Um yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm excited for this. Anyone, anyone fans of that bully game?
SPEAKER_01I gotta if this is on game, if this comes on Game Pass, I gotta get this, bro.
SPEAKER_07I pray it is, but I I'm probably gonna buy it even though it's if definitely so uh it looks kind of rudimentary. Uh it's almost you know GTA, you know they made that that bully game like 20 years ago. I'm I'm I'm jealous if you get to experience bully for the first time. So bull.
SPEAKER_04I have no I genuinely have no idea what they're talking about.
SPEAKER_07So, okay, you remember L.A. Noir?
SPEAKER_04Remember LA Noir? I don't know what that is either.
SPEAKER_07So Roxar makes a bunch of different games besides GTA. Uh huh. Yeah. You believe it? They made Red End Redemption. That's the big one.
SPEAKER_02Ah, you're right, you're right.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god, today. And they made I haven't even played that. They made, well, whatever. I mean, it you know, Cowboys, whatever. Uh, and they made That's a great game, bro.
SPEAKER_01It's a great game.
SPEAKER_07I need to beat them. But they made Ellie Noir, which was like a detective gave. Anyways, in 2006, bro, they made this game called Bully. And bully was like GTA, but you're in a private school. And it's fucking literally so you go to you go to private school, you're like a piece of shit, kid. Oh, you're like bullying. You're like a bullying. And you can, there's like, instead of gangs, it's like the jocks, the nerds, the like, there's like a bunch of and like and you can wear a bunch of outfits. You do like, you have to go to class, make it to class on time. If you skip class, like the uh the like you know, like the upperclassmen like like run after you to try to get you back in school. You can graffiti, you can like pull pranks on people, you have like fart bombs. Oh no, bro. You bro, you ride, you ride like bicycles and it changes seasons. There's like Halloween, Christmas. Bro, you gotta play bully, bro. It's it's on a lot of consoles. Do you have like PS5 or something? Yeah, yeah, I think you can you might be able to find it on there. Dude, get bullied so good.
SPEAKER_02But anyway, that's kind of funny.
SPEAKER_07They Rockstar was gonna make a second one in 2017, but they got canceled. They were like, it got canceled, they're like, eh, it probably won't work. We don't have enough people, not enough money, whatever, which is ridiculous. I don't know what it actually was, but they didn't make it. So these these this group of small people, it might have started as one guy, but now it's like a little bit more. They're making this game called Age Field High, I believe it is, Vic, right? Age Field High.
SPEAKER_01Rock the school.
SPEAKER_07Basically, it's like an indie version of bully. And it looks a little simple, but I'm gonna get the fuck out of it if if it's on my console because I miss that. Because GTA is one thing. I'm getting GTA, but I like there's just something about like causing a ruckus in a private school, skateboarding around, throwing water balloons, like gr graffiting walls, all this stuff. So uh I'm really excited for it. Check out the trailer if you haven't. Age field high, but Age Field High. I don't know. Vic, you yeah, you you said it looked pretty good. You did you play bully back in the day, Vic?
SPEAKER_01I have not, but I always loved this this style, like open world. You know, you kind of do whatever the fuck you want to do, get to live however you want to live, gets to get that adrenaline going. So kind of like GTA.
SPEAKER_06So uh it looks interesting, bro.
SPEAKER_01The trailer it looks crazy, like walking through a high school, getting the relives, that is insane.
SPEAKER_07Dude, if you I think it should be on modern consoles. If you get a chance, definitely recommend doing a bully playthrough. It shouldn't take too long, but it is a good time if you just want to be be a mess of a person and just wreak havoc, dude. Because it's like, like, it's one thing to like play G, because GTA is fun. It's so funny. Like, you get in trouble with the cops, all that, yada yada yada, it's it's cool, like open world, free will type of beat. But you're in bully, there's just some sort of fucked up joy of like, what the fuck did you just do to my classroom? Like, I don't know, man. That's like it's hilarious, bro. It's so funny. It's like these people are like you can throw kids into trash cans, like hide in lockers. Finally, yeah, it's finally. It's just this weird, this just weird thing that's just hilarious of just like, this is so ridiculous, but like it's a good time.
SPEAKER_04The thing is, I just know that like playing, I've only played GTA five once.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_04Um, I was like at a friend's house, and this is like a couple years ago, and we played for like honestly, we played for a while, like a couple hours, but I was my entire point was like I was just gonna follow the rules. I was gonna drive like a normal person, I was gonna try to get like a normal job or whatever. Right. I was having I was like actually having a good time. I was like playing life simulator. I'm like, hold on, this is actually incredibly fun. So I just know getting this high school game, I'd probably just like blend in and be like a normal student. You can do that. People come into my room. What are you doing?
SPEAKER_07Get out! So yeah, you could get out!
SPEAKER_02I'm just playing a s as a school child.
SPEAKER_07You could get straight A's, you could join the preps. I think that's one of the clans is the preps. They're douchebags, but you can join them.
SPEAKER_02You can get straight A's, so I have to like take like take tests or something like that.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's like it's like funny little like button mashing, button pressing, like different things. Like, you know what I mean? Like that type of style. Or like there's also PE.
SPEAKER_04No, I mom, get out. I have to study. Yeah, it's just like a stage of just like triangles and squares and circles.
SPEAKER_07It is is so good. And then like there's skateboarding so you can hang on to cars and like like run.
SPEAKER_04That's all there's like Marty McFly.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, there's a lot of good mechanics in this game, and it's just like kind of uh it it it never got I mean, it got the love it I think it deserved back then, but it's like it's not GTA, but great game, bully. Age Field High, check it out, it's coming out soon. So done.
SPEAKER_05Well, with that being said, we're gonna move on to Xbox gaming update.
SPEAKER_07Fat gaming updates for Xbox boys. Fat gaming updates for Xbox. Uh well, ever since Asha Sharma um took over. You know, you know, it I I will say nowadays, especially in modern media, I'm never gonna say it's over till the fat lady sings because who knows what kind of rug pull is around the corner of every m trillion dollar company. However, Asha Sharma, previously head of like Microsoft, like a Microsoft AI division, yeah, has been making moves that the gamers have been dreaming about for a while. So she said, no more Microsoft gaming. We are Xbox again. Yes. She turned that yep, she turned that white 2D Xbox symbol into a green, like glassy, lit up Xbox symbol, classic.
SPEAKER_05Should have been like that the whole fucking time. Should have been like that the whole time.
SPEAKER_07She turned that into, you know, kind of given that classic sense, uh, which was crazy. Uh she says we're gonna focus a little bit more on exclusives. I'm like, okay, that's crazy. Good stuff. You know, Xbox getting their brand back. Because for a while, Xbox was like, oh, we lost the console war. We agree with, like, you know, uh, and I think console exclusivity is kind of silly, but I think brand recognition is important. Yeah, it's kind of a mix of it.
SPEAKER_04I feel like that comes that comes with it. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07So, like if you want to do timed exclusives, whatever, or at least have your brand back. But, anyways, Anne, she did something that is unprecedented for so many subscription services. She lowered the price of Game Pass.
SPEAKER_05Let's get into it. Let's get into it. I just wanted to have a whole conversation.
SPEAKER_07Straight up just lowered it. So, yeah, straight up. Uh well, at least for Ultimate, which is the top tier. So it's kind of like it's kind of a weird thing. So she it basically in the last six months so Game Pass in the last six months went from $20 to $30. Which and and it included a little bit of things that, you know, that's a lot of people didn't want. And that's how they, you know, when companies like bundle things, how they justify, yeah. And they're like, oh, that justifies the 50% price increase. It's like, no, it fucking doesn't. Now for me, it had Fortnite in it. I play Fortnite, I use the service, it saved me money. For 99% of people, probably not.
SPEAKER_04Wait, wait, what? Wait, hold on. So you the but Fortnite is a free game.
SPEAKER_07No, no, uh, Fortnite Crew. Fortnite crew, it's like it's like the premium thing. So you get the battle pass, you get some in-game currency. It's like one of the Yeah, so that was rolled in for me, so I save money now.
SPEAKER_04Dude, I actually did not know that was even the thing.
SPEAKER_07However, so, and I know what a lot of people are thinking for sure. It it was 20, then it went to 30, ridiculous. Now it's back to 23. Did we really win? I don't know. I still think it's a step in the right direction because there's so much backlash. Now, this is all set up, right? This is kind of the Ollie Oop. What Asha Sharma is now kind of hinting at is another thing that's kind of kind of a bit crazier than what normal subscription does. She's kind of rumoring at a choose your own adventure style of Game Pass subscription coming up here. So let's say you don't need the Fortnite crew, you don't need you know, DistroKid benefits, or you don't need or not distro kid, what am I saying? That's a music thing. Uh uh, what is it? Discord. You don't need Discord benefits, you don't need, you know, some other bundles. You can kind of mix and match, pick your own style, and perhaps that would give you a better price point. Now, I will say this, and at this point for the 12 people who care, I guess, which I used to be one of these people, but now I don't really uh Game Pass used to be, you know, how everyone was like, and this is why they kind of had a one-up on PlayStation, is Game Pass had the day ones. Game Pass had those crazy big day one releases. Well, Astasharma did say Call of Duty will no longer be launching day one on Game Pass Ultimate, that will be a part of it one year later. So I'm sure there's a small amount of people who are upset, but honestly, if Call of Duty is gonna be Black Ops 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and kind of be kind of run into the ground in in terms of the those sequels, and that's the COD we kind of get on Game Pass, I'm fine with losing Game Pass and gaining seven dollars back a month. But I I'm also hoping on the other end of it that because COD will cost money now at launch, it'll be very good and it'll give them Microsoft incentive to allow developers to kind of cook a little bit. I don't know, but I haven't been into COD for a couple years now, and I'm a huge COD fanboy, but it just hasn't really been hitting. So there's a lot of mixed bags going along here, but basically I think to sum it up, Asha Sharma is trying to get in the good graces of the gamers. And I hope it continues. I never know if it will, but it's it's a step in the right direction for Xbox gain gaining its name back. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I mean, I'm glad that IGN did a whole report, basically, you know, it's basically saying exclus uh exclusiv uh exclusivity, uh, affordability, third-party partnerships, and focus as new Xbox leadership vows to fix the fundamentals. And the fundamentals is what you just spoke about, Mario. Basically choosing the gamers, choosing them, and stop thinking about, you know, of course, she's gonna look at, you know, the board and all of that stuff like that. But at the same time, it's like if we want Xbox to work, if we want Xbox to be here in the next 10 years, right, we have to focus on Xbox solely. Because the last couple of years, I feel like Xbox, when you say Xbox, you always think about Microsoft, right? Yeah, and it's like, no, we when people think about Xbox, I want them to solely think about Xbox. Remove uh we know Microsoft is the parent company, but at the same time, it's like we want people to say that's Xbox. And her doing all of this right now, like at the beginning stages of her being over it, I think it's a win-win for the gamers, consumers, and everybody else.
SPEAKER_04That's a good that's actually a good point. Because like when I think of PlayStation, I don't think of Sony.
SPEAKER_05Yep.
SPEAKER_04Really though? I don't think I'm gonna do it. I had I was sitting here and I was like, oh yeah, Sony does own PlayStation. Like I totally forgot about that.
SPEAKER_07When people buy uh, and I know Sony has had some PC titles, but when people buy a PlayStation, they're buying a PlayStation. Correct. I hated that. Hey, don't go back. Sorry. God, you're so warm. Yeah, they are really warm aka everything y'all just summed up.
SPEAKER_01As good as it sounds, it's a my bad, we fucked up. Oh, we got it, we got it wrong. That's good. We we tried to double dip in a pot that was not working in the first place. Right. Yeah. And now we're of course correcting.
SPEAKER_07You've got all of these motherfuckers at this point. Isn't that all these motherfuckers at this point? It's it's how much can I squeeze you before you squeal loud enough that I'm like, fuck, too hard. Yeah, gotta back it off.
SPEAKER_01Because the whole point of them raising the price was like you said, the day one exclusives, Call of Duty was supposed to be the biggest title in that, you know, that they get day one. So the fact they dropped the price is good. Hopefully, you know, I know they're gonna try to figure out some other stuff to add to it to justify keeping it at 20, was it 22 or 23?
SPEAKER_0720, I think it's 23 bucks now, I want to say.
SPEAKER_01So they're gonna try to justify it, but um, I mean, it's it's cool. Yeah, like you said, I never recognized the white logo anyway.
SPEAKER_07I always like it was so devoid of what Xbox because Xbox, if you all you all remember Salmus, I know you were kind of young during this, but and and so was I honestly, but this era of Xbox, when Xbox first came out, it literally was like alien. Like it was because if you remember on the first so like you know, PlayStation had Sony, uh PlayStation, and it was super like so PlayStation one, PlayStation 2, it was super cool, sleek, it was awesome, and then Nintendo, they were kind of a juggernaut in space. You had a couple Sega consoles, whatever, whatever. And Xbox was like, bro, we've never been in the gaming space, let's just make it like next generation and like weird. And like the Xbox original had like some of the best graphics at the time. And dude, if you straight up, my Xbox is in my room right now. If you leave the Xbox on its dashboard for like 10 to 15 minutes, they start having alien language in the background, like a made-up language of like it's like crazy fucking weird, but it's so cool because it was like, what is this weird like console from the future shit has a giant X on it? Like, this is crazy. It's green.
SPEAKER_04Dude, and it looks my dad, my dad has an Xbox in his garage. I've never played on it, but I've seen it, and he's like taken it out and showed me. Dude, he has the he got the bundle that came with that one game, the guy with the glasses, like a generic looking guy. Oh man, I don't know. Uh Psychonauts? No. He said it was like a huge game with the Xbox when it first came out.
SPEAKER_05Hold on, same, summose. You never played Xbox before?
SPEAKER_04I've never played with the original Xbox.
SPEAKER_05Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04I grew up with the 360, bro. Okay, got you.
SPEAKER_05I was like, hold on, I'm like wait a minute. I was like, wait a fucking minute right now.
SPEAKER_04On the 360, yeah. Uh the original one, not the one with the touchpad, the one that was the button. Yeah, where it was 50% of the you had a 50% chance of like getting that red, the red circle, bro.
SPEAKER_07You never got the red ring. I got mine a little bit later. It was a better model. It never got the red ring. I never got the red ring. I have it so the thing's sick.
SPEAKER_06Um I love man, I love that Xbox.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, it was you know, Xbox gave off that tsunami. Uh y'all watched, y'all remember tsunami on Cartoon Network? Yeah, it did. It did.
SPEAKER_07Um, very, very big tsunami vibes. Um I was a PBS kids kid. Nah, man, you gotta get on tsunami, bro. You can tell Dragon Ball Z for uh dude. I love Toonami because I'd wake up at 2 a.m. and be like, Dragon Ball Z for 40 fucking hours.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and I'd be like, oh shit. This will put me on anime for real. Tsunami really put me on anime. Like it like that was my go-to after school, in the morning, like that was my.
SPEAKER_07What was Tsunami?
SPEAKER_04Is that like a big thing?
SPEAKER_07Tunami was like, it was it was not adult swim officially, but it was like a cartoon network.
SPEAKER_05It was basically like it was like a blend in a cartoon network.
SPEAKER_07You know the lo-fi girl on YouTube like study beats? Imagine if that was for anime TV shows, and instead of Lo-Fi Girl, it was like a robot voiced by uh I think his name's Steve Bloom. But he was like, What's going on, guys? But he's like in a spaceship. He's like, tonight we're gonna be playing two back-to-back hours of Dragon Ball Z, followed by one piece. Yeah. Followed by a kid late at night. I'm about to send you some videos. Yeah, you gotta go see it. And he'd be yeah, he'd be like, up next is Dragon Ball Z. Up next is uh well, uh man, like the guy with the long hair, the long uh white hair. You know what I'm talking about? Yasha, bro. Dude, that so it was like a giant, it was like a curated, like late night anime, like marathon vibe. Bro, it is the vibe.
SPEAKER_05It was also, it was like like late afternoon. They knew exactly when kids got out, and then it was like late night as well. So yeah, let the samurai jack was interesting. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I'm just not honestly, I'm just not a huge anime guy. Dude, honestly, I've only seen at hand, I've only and the thing is I feel like they'd be right up my alley, but there's so many of them that I'm just like Oh, you can't even start.
SPEAKER_07That's me, bro. That's me.
SPEAKER_04Like, I'm like I'm like I don't know my. But the thing is, the ones that I've seen that I love, I love. And I'm like, dude, this is like perfect, like perfect storytelling. The story is so compelling and interesting and wild and crazy and like incredibly thought out. Like, I've only like I've only seen or some I've seen um Edge Runners.
SPEAKER_06Okay, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I first time I watched it, didn't really like it, but then I watched it again. Fire. Love the style. I love Studio Trigger. Um, Attack on Titan actually hasn't finished. I couldn't I couldn't I couldn't finish either.
SPEAKER_01My nephew's favorite is Attack on Title.
SPEAKER_04I'm on the last season. I haven't yet finished it.
SPEAKER_07Sword art? Any sword art? Oh, I know what that is. Look up Sword. The first sword art online. Watch that.
SPEAKER_04Is that anime?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Oh, oh, look up sword art. Drawings of swords. He was like, if you typed in sword art, if you typed in sword art, it would not give you drawings. So you'd be fine.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_07But uh that was that it's basically like uh you you put on a VR helmet and you're like in the world, and some guy like traps all everyone at once in that world. And it's like crap. And you that's like a matter of like getting out and stuff. And dude, anime, it's a lot because all the anime fans are like, watch this one, watch this one, watch this one. And I'm like, bro, that's crazy. Like one piece. Hell yeah, I can't watch a thousand episodes. They're coming out of the world. One piece is so good though, y'all. It's so good. Yes, I know, but it's like only watch the streamlined anime that's coming out. I was literally gonna say, that's what I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_01I will we will make the remake, the Netflix remake or whatever. Yes, yes, that's good. That's a good way to get into it, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It skips all the uh all the filler episodes.
SPEAKER_07There is it, is the is the anime version out yet? They're coming out with one, right? Like the the anime, they're coming out with literally an anime of one piece that's not the original anime that's supposed to be no filler and like concise.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's coming out.
SPEAKER_04It's gonna be on Netflix. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_07I yeah.
SPEAKER_04Netflix, dude. Netflix, shout out to the city.
SPEAKER_07They got their anime department cooking. They're Netflix is just holy. They spent too much on the anime department. They couldn't afford WB.
SPEAKER_05Uh they couldn't afford, I mean, they could, but they just weren't, they weren't gonna give up that much money.
SPEAKER_01They didn't want the whole company.
SPEAKER_05They just wanted to, you know. Uh we'll we'll we'll get into that into like the movies and TV section, but I'll say this. Um I think they are watching what's gonna happen between the merger and see if it actually gets approved. But we'll get into that later.
SPEAKER_07Um, for sure. We talk about that everything, every uh every episode.
SPEAKER_01But the last thing, anime is so it is a little oversaturated, like Salmos is saying, but it's taking over, bro. Anime is so huge now, it's like it surpassed comics. Because back when, you know, our era, me and TJ, it was comics, superheroes, comics. That was the big thing. And now it's like nobody cares about comics anymore. It's all anime now.
SPEAKER_07So it's like are you kidding me? I mean, a lot of the times it's the thing about these symbols. If anime is is if you're watching an anime, my friend was mentioning this a few years back, which I like always think about. If an anime is an anime and you're watching it, that means it was a good manga. It was a manga. It wouldn't become a lot of times it wouldn't become an anime if it was like a sucky manga. Exactly. So you're you're watching a good product, yeah.
SPEAKER_04But some of these animes, I'm like, what? Like, what was I what was an anime? Actually, damn. Actually, that's a good point. Because there's one anime that I watched, I was like, what even is this? And like three seasons in, I'm like, okay, but like what happens though? I mean, you know, uh, what's it called? Food wars? Have you seen that one? Oh, okay. No, no, dude.
SPEAKER_02Food wars, so it's oh my god.
SPEAKER_04So it's these, it's basically this world where there are these where like food chefs have perfected food. And there's a giant compet there's a giant school, kind of like Harry Potter, um, but everybody is like, it's like a professional culinary school, and all these kids are going to school, and the show is just about like these kids training, and then they go to and have these competitions against other schools, and they just go on this huge stage and they're like cooking and it's like anime. It's like but the food is so good that these that these characters or whoever these chefs make that when you eat it, you have orgasm.
SPEAKER_00That's what I was thinking.
SPEAKER_02Orgasm in the show. I'm talking like their clothes fly on. Bro, this should be just like we need to show this shit out. Food wars. DJ's like, okay, so like what is the show called? Is asking.
SPEAKER_07See, this is why anime is a freaky food war.
SPEAKER_01Anime is always freaky. All the videos I watched.
SPEAKER_04It's good because each episode they teach you how to make the recipe and they teach you what's good, like what's good about like what makes it delicious and what's complicated about the recipe and like the because it's all like all the recipes they make are like real ones from you know Japan or wherever. So it's like also like a cooking show on top of that. It's I thought it was super cool, super entertaining. And the dude, the food looks so good, too.
SPEAKER_05All right, everybody that is out there listening to Yam Pasta, go look up Food Wars, because I will be doing that tonight once I eat my edible. Um, make sure you're in a room by yourself when you're fucking fucking fucking fucking.
SPEAKER_07Don't let your mom come in on the GTA loading screen. Yeah. Animes be freaky with it, bro. Because they're and they're always like, and they're in fucking high school. It's like, get the fuck out of here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're also like 12 years old.
SPEAKER_07Get the fuck out of here, anime. I'm like, bro. Figure out your shit. I don't know what y'all doing. Yeah, dude. Uh but uh we'll but yeah, uh tsunami, bro.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Toonami. Tsunami. Check it out.
SPEAKER_06Checking it out.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, check it out. I'll send you some video salmos. Um, but uh, yeah, so you can look at it and be like, oh shit, this is what was going on back in the day. Hell yeah, motherfucker. Um all right. Well, um, I think we kind of like talked about the Game Pass price cut and everything like that.
SPEAKER_06We did, we did, we did.
SPEAKER_05Um Fortnite. Fortnite. Yeah. Fortnite. Let's let's move, yeah, let's get there.
SPEAKER_01I know Mario excited about this one.
SPEAKER_07Uh you know, I am. I need to get some uh you know, here's what I hate though. I I will say, I wish I could use my legacy, legacy rock band one stuff, because I still have that stuff in my closet back home. But still cool nonetheless, Fortnite, because they do own the company that makes rock band now, they added mic support, like plug-in microphone support for their festival mode, because they have a Fortnite festival, it's kind of like rock band within Fortnite. And they added Pro drums, so you can plug in your drum kit for Rock Band 4 now. And I'm pretty sure your guitars have worked. So you can get a if you have rock band 4. Four band. If you have rock band 4 equipment, shove that shit in your console. You can play and sing your songs. That is actually kind of awesome. Licensed music and all that crazy shit. So it's you know, if we don't have Rock Band 5, we got Fortnite. Yeah. So whatever. Pretty cool. Uh that's that's the uh that's the update there. Check it out. Leve is the icon series right now.
SPEAKER_04Yes, dude. Leve.
SPEAKER_07Levy's out there. Um, but yeah, it's a vibe. Uh check it out. And uh yeah. Ace uh big big news for the uh gaming community who likes black. The unemployed for the big news for the unemployed news for the unemployed. Huge news. Um if anyone remembers Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, the pirate one, um this game was one of the favorites of the series and considered one of the uh better pirate games in all of gaming. Um Ubisoft has called this uh remake uh gaming's worst uh kept secret. Um it is AC Black Flag Resync. So this is a from the ground up remake that will be released in June, I believe. So it is a summer title. So if you're looking to get back into your swashbuckling shoes, make sure to check out Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resync. Um and this, Vic, as you would put it, I believe this is Ubisoft kind of being like if we fucked up, please help.
SPEAKER_01No, seriously. Um they especially with the Assassin's Creed franchise, like you know, it's it's been up and down. So for them to go back to this game and to redo this one, I think this was a good one to to go back and you know, and redo, remaster or remake. I usually I guess it's the it is a remake, I think. I believe and it's set to launch July 9th.
SPEAKER_07I just Oh July 9th, okay, cool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so yeah, I'm excited for it. It's the it had a huge open world. Um, it was a lot to do. And if you love like platinum and or you know achievements and shit like that, you're gonna have plenty of hours to do that on this game. So yeah, I'm excited for it. It this kind of got me so excited about Assassin's Creed. I was on YouTube like deep diving in the lore of all the protagonists throughout. This one guy on YouTube, I can't remember his name right now, but he did a video like explaining all the protagonists' deaths and shit like that, like all the history. And that shit was it was interesting.
SPEAKER_07So for them to go back to this one, I think Edward Kenway is one of the most interesting characters in Assassin's Creed, so Yeah, I like how I like how uh like one of the most loved Assassin's Creed games is one that stars uh a guy who I don't even think is really an assassin. He just kind of took the cloak from a dead guy's body and learned along the way. So it's kind of like a really weird, like Dude, holy, you just unlocked because I've never played a single Assassin's Creed game, may I just say.
SPEAKER_04I've only seen the movie.
SPEAKER_07How was that? Oh, bad start. I've seen it, I've seen it, I've seen it, I've seen it.
SPEAKER_04So anyway, I've only seen the movie.
SPEAKER_07That was a budget title movie, by the way. That was a budget title movie.
SPEAKER_04Wasn't it Lionsgate? I think they had their grummy hands on that movie.
SPEAKER_07But the whole time, but the whole time they were like, hey yo, so we can only afford like the assassin scenes like every two hours. Most of the movie, he's gonna be in a fucking concrete prison.
SPEAKER_04What and and and also I have like no idea, I don't know anything about the games or anything like that. So watching it, I was like, what even is happening right now? What even is the story?
SPEAKER_07Well, here's the thing. I'm gonna I'm gonna break it down for you. Most of the games, most of the games, you're in the past period. Because that's like the really fun part.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_07And and and in the in the early games, the modern was good too, but after a while, it's like we're clearly here for something.
SPEAKER_04Wait, what? There's early games where it's modern?
SPEAKER_07Uh not not not completely modern, but there's like more of a modern story. It's like two sides. It's modern and so they killed the that main character. But it but but you're here for a reason, right? You're here for the past, you're here for the the history. And then and then there's little bits and pieces of the modern storyline. Oh, that's fun. This Assassin's Creed movie was like do mostly the modern storyline. And by the way, they're not like running around places or anything, it's just kind of in like a laboratory, and sometimes he's like in the computer. And I'm watching this movie and I'm like, This is what the fuck is this boring?
SPEAKER_02Like what like and I'm also like, what, is this time travel or is this like uh or is he like pretending to like he's being okay?
SPEAKER_04I I barely remember this movie. I think I just saw it one time. I was like 13 years old, and I was like, dad, turn it off.
SPEAKER_07I was literally like, Oh no, yeah, you would have had to be so young with this fucking movie. This came out in 2016, by the way. Yeah. Um I was what did he have the at like the at the apple of eve or whatever it was, like the the artifact? Because that does have time travel. Maybe. What? Wait, what? There there is there is low-key, there is low-key some I don't know how to fucking explain Assassin's Creed, bro. This is a different podcast. But there's some moments where like in your memories, the like it kind of glitches out and like goes to like World War II on accident or something like that. Or I think even the modern world can do that because there's these like artifacts, like biblical artifacts, like like Adam's apple that that can like take you, it gives you like eternal life or brings you to a different plane of existence or all this crap. But uh I the the movie's a war to collect them. The movie was a movie, yeah, it was a war to collect them. The movie was just it was one of those movies where they're like, call it this, because that's popular.
SPEAKER_04Literally, it would have been so cool if it was just a period movie of like, oh, in during the whichever Assassin's Creed was like during the English times, or that's what they literally should have done. Is it is an assassin in that time. Why does it have to be modern? Why is that like money? Maybe maybe that is the movies budget. Maybe maybe that is like the game story where it is that. I don't know.
SPEAKER_07I've never played the games, but it's like but it's but it's it's it's modern interesting. Most deliciously the back in time stuff. Yeah, because that's why the games sell. It's the back in time. They don't sell like in this game. One chapter, you're you're back in the Revolutionary War, but and then all the others, you're you're like at the coffee shop.
SPEAKER_05You in this fucking blanket is killing me. My legs are cold. These leg hairs aren't doing it.
SPEAKER_04I literally had the pair of sweatpants in my hands. I was leaving, and I was like, no.
SPEAKER_05You're fine, you're fine, Salmos. I just I'm just like looking at this blanket, and I'm just like the coldest room in the past.
SPEAKER_07And my room is so hot too, it makes no sense.
SPEAKER_04Okay, well now I know. So next time I will be in the chewback.
SPEAKER_07I'll bring my own blanket. Uh but yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh it's cool. It's a good day to be an Assassin's Creed fan. Let's say and Ubisoft needs W's. At the end of the day, Ubisoft shitty companies are begging for W's after stabbing you in the back a hundred times. They're like, hey, we've got some good games in our backlog. Let's let's come back with those. So bringing it back with the best with the best game and the best color. So that's it. So that's it. Um yes. Um, also something that's back. Uh sequel, uh, Vic, I think you'll like this one if you like horror games. Alien Isolation 2 was literally teased today or yesterday. Um I have the first one. Too spooky for me. Uh you got it on PS5? No, I have it on Xbox. What? You want you wanna make a license code or something?
SPEAKER_04Or you know what? Me and you.
SPEAKER_07Play it? Let's play. Let's- Oh, dude, let's plays would be fun for this.
SPEAKER_04Play some alien.
SPEAKER_07Do you like horror games? Uh I get scared of them. I'm like, I don't want to go.
SPEAKER_04Have I played the only horror games that I've played? I'm not even gonna give you the long answer.
SPEAKER_07Yes, I love horror games. Because I me watching Let's Play, it's like, haha, you gotta be an idiot or movies. Like, you gotta be an idiot and do this. Ha ha. I'm the idiot now. I gotta go to the scary room.
SPEAKER_04The thing is, you have to do it. It's not like I it's not like I could be like, okay, so I'm so that's a dark room, and I see a giant demon in the corner. I'm just gonna walk the other way. No, no, no, no, no. The game's like press X to open the door. Yeah. Is it a lock option?
SPEAKER_07Can I lock it? So yeah, Alien Isolation 2, uh, it was just teased. Um, and the first game came out in 2013, and it looks incredible, it feels incredible. It was kind of a uh a crazy game to come out uh looking and being like that. So I'm always accepting of a good sequel of Vic. TJ, what do you you guys have any opinions on the matter?
SPEAKER_05I think you and Salmos did an amazing job uh just like talking about it. I mean, yeah. Well, thank you very much, TJ. I think I think you and him going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
SPEAKER_06See, that's why I brought Salmos here.
SPEAKER_01Beautiful. Oh man. I'm interested to see how it turns out, man. I'm uh I'm uh I love you know horror games, but yeah, Alien is one of them ones where you'll play it, I'll play it for like 20, 30 minutes, and I'm like, all right, I gotta come back to this later and then never come back.
SPEAKER_07I'm like, fuck it.
SPEAKER_04Well, because I heard that AI or the uh the the aliens AI. The aliens AI was like too good. Was it adaptable and like learned? And it like scared you on purpose, like it would it would be purpose. Yeah, and it would like on purpose like walk around you or like hide in like corners so you can just see.
SPEAKER_05I like more the horror movies than horror video games. I'm good on that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I love the like man. I just have I just got a couple of like two Dark Souls-esque games to play.
SPEAKER_07I'm the same way with those.
SPEAKER_04I have um oh man, I just got it for free with PlayStation Plus. Sekiro. No. Liza P. I have that's the second one I have. Haven't star I started it, but I had to stop because it's incredibly difficult. It's so hard. And not in a good way. What is this game called?
SPEAKER_07It's called it's called Neo. Neo 123. It's called Star Wars Jedi.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I have Callista Protocol 2. Oh. I haven't played it yet, but I heard that that one's like Last of Us in Space.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's like it's made by the Dead Space people.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, dude, and with the PlayStation 5, the adaptable adaptable triggers, yeah, there's like a weapon you have in that game where it's like a it's like a chainsaw thing. If you hit, if you like use it and hit a wall, the joystick like or the trigger bounces back at you like you're hitting something hard. But if you hit a zombie, it like you have to like pull it down like you're cutting through something.
SPEAKER_07Bro, I think I have literally an example. It's so sick or two games that use adaptable triggers. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Honestly, games need to use that. Game need to use it, bro.
SPEAKER_07It's there's so much potential there.
SPEAKER_01007 should have it. I know they got that exclusive controller coming out.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I'm so excited for that game.
SPEAKER_04Lords of the Fallen.
SPEAKER_07Oh, the second one. Like the remake, right?
SPEAKER_04Lords of the Fallen. Uh, I'm not sure. What's the year?
SPEAKER_07Do you know the year? Uh because they they came out with they like tried a redo because the first one didn't do too well or they didn't like it or something.
SPEAKER_04Lords of the Fallen. Lords of the Fallen version 2.5.
SPEAKER_07Okay, it's probably the newest one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So I would think it's the newest one.
SPEAKER_07Cool, man.
SPEAKER_04Dude, so I'm gonna try that out. I heard it's not the best out of like the Dark Souls kind of games, but it I don't know, the trailer looked cool. Yeah, yeah. And I like those kinds of games sometimes.
SPEAKER_07We're gonna make it work. I like I'm too scared of those games, but I really appreciate what they are. Like they're so cool.
SPEAKER_04That's what I'm saying. We gotta get through it because you're you'll be the little scaredy cat, and then I'll be the person that's like scaredy cat. I haven't heard that in a while. Look how like beautiful, even and then that's the thing, dude. Because now if we play a game where we both get scared, that's how you know it's scary, man.
SPEAKER_07Shit, man. YamPasta Let's Play channel coming soon.
SPEAKER_04If this if this podcast episode gets three likes, we'll convict.
SPEAKER_05Hey, let's let's talk about the email. If you guys want to see this happen, yampastapod at gmail.com. Um let's play. Um, I think we are at the end. Um, well, yeah, we just gotta ask what people are cooking.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, what are we doing?
SPEAKER_03We went gaming right now. We went gaming?
SPEAKER_07Vic, you I mean you're you're a busy guy. You're probably not gaming. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I just purchased. I think it came out, man, when did it come out a little bit ago? Today. But I have just uh shut off no no, I just bought you you know me, Little Nightmares Fanboy. Right, right. I just bought Little Nightmares VR. About to test that out. I will play it for you guys so you guys don't have to. I'll test it out, see if it's good, let you guys know. But very excited. I haven't seen any trailers or anything for it. My little brother is just the one that came out to me. He's like, yo, because I've been playing him, I've been playing all the Little Nightmares games with him, and he was like, dude, this game just came out. Trust me. So we will see. But other than that, I mean I played Minecraft the other day. That it's nice and built a sick trial.
SPEAKER_07I played Crimson Desert a little bit more today. I think I honed in my graphic settings. It's super, super fun. It's like medieval GTA with magic. That's been crazy. Uh I've been playing Mouse PI for hire. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_04Yo, is it that that rubber hose game?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Dude. So solid. Definitely play it if you get a chance. It's very fast paced, super fun. Just on it.
SPEAKER_01It's on everything. Console? Yeah, it's on everything. I'm thinking about going to pick it up uh from GameStop, see if I got some. Hey, what's it called?
SPEAKER_06Oh, they got physical copies.
SPEAKER_01What's it called? Yeah, yeah, they because they had it, they don't they don't sell for 30 bucks. I think Target has some too.
SPEAKER_07That's it. Yeah, no, I highly recommend it. They got Troy Baker to voice the main character. It's a good time. It's got great mechanics, it feels good. They really like. And they just did such a good job, dude. It's really good. I did, I've been playing that a little bit. I'm trying to beat Area 51 still. God, I'm sluggish at playing my PS2. Area 51 from 05. That's that's a solid game. But it's it's getting a little hard. I think I'm an endgame now. Um and yeah, just oh, ooh, if you haven't, I'm actually playing a lot of little games right now. Uh Double Fine. I don't know what games they make, but they're a really good company. They just made this multiplayer game called Kiln, K-I-L-N, and it's basically like uh destroy the other team's base kind of game, but you your pottery in a weird way, so you can literally like shape your own pottery, and it's between like five classes. So like I made one of mine like an hourglass so I can like freeze time, and the whole point of the game it's a sick game, it's a sick game. I think it might be crossplay, we should play it. But so like for me, like I pick up the water, right? I roll because I'm like a little hourglass, I roll to their side because they have a fire, you're supposed to put out the fire. I pick up the water, I like I'm about to hit the the kiln with my water, but I freeze time, so the teammates behind me trying to kill me are like slowed, and I'm just like hitting that shit with water, and it's like a whoever can kill their like sides fire three times. And so, like, let's say you and and it's cool because like you kind of choose when you're crafting, you're sculpting, like each class you choose, is like, oh well, I want a lot of health. If I'm gonna have a lot of health, I probably won't get a lot of like water retainment, or like I'm gonna like make a really skinny character so they can't hit me as easy. It's a really weird man, or like I have a tornado power because mine my my thing went over there, and then you un the things you unlock are like stickers, handles, color, like paints. It's a weird game.
SPEAKER_02Stick handles, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Dude, it's a weird game, but it's super unique. What? Super unique, and it's on Game Pass, so I've been playing that. Shout out to Game Pass.
SPEAKER_04I I'm I'm I just would love to be in that board meeting. Guys, I got it. Sit down. You're gonna want to sit down.
SPEAKER_07Well, double double find is definitely a weird company because I think they made oh god, did they make psychonauts? I don't know, but they make some strange weird games, and I love strange weird games. I've had that game. You have that game?
SPEAKER_04Let's play.
SPEAKER_07Let's play. That game is so hard. Just flip! Have you played that game?
SPEAKER_02No, but I have played October.
SPEAKER_07I have Octo Dad. I have Octodad too.
SPEAKER_02Hey, four of us. Four of us, Octodad.
SPEAKER_04This is it, four of us, Octodad. Um only one dad, though.
SPEAKER_07Only one dad. But uh it's an extremely hard game where you play as an octopus and you have to use the whole controller, and it's you're like it's and if you play with four people, each person controls a limb.
SPEAKER_04And so you have to each like grab the other grass. You literally have to work together as a team.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, or a controller is like left trigger is left arm, right trigger is right arm, so you're just like moving like this. Oh shit. Um, good time, a good time. Dude, I did download, I'm not really playing it right now, Vic, but I go back every now and then. I download sleeping dogs because I kind of want to do a sleeping dogs playthrough.
SPEAKER_01Oh shit.
SPEAKER_07Envoy sent me this uh it's like it's like GTA in Hong Kong, but you play as an undercover cop in the in like Yakuza. I think it's it might be Yakuza, it might be not, but no, I think it's like a different uh syndicate, like a triad, but it's like one of the best GTA style games ever. Definitely check it out. It's awesome. I'll check it out. And you can do like you like you hands-on fighting. You also have like guns and shit. It's it's great.
SPEAKER_01These simulation games are getting crazy too. I know I a couple episodes, I think it was before you joined us, Simon. So talked about the Jesus simulator game.
SPEAKER_02No way.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, now they got now. They got this is one coming out called Become.
SPEAKER_06What?
SPEAKER_01What? And you're trying to get you're trying to uh reach the uterus, I guess. Oh yeah, yeah, I've seen that.
SPEAKER_07I've seen that one. Not the uterus.
SPEAKER_06Oh.
SPEAKER_03Become. Oh my god. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01These simulations are going can are going crazy. Everybody's going to crack it. Guys, hear me out. I did just pick up Def Jam icons for the PS3. I never played that one, but I did play Def Jam Vendetta and of course Fight for New York. Is those are hard to fucking get, bro. They're expensive. Like those are going for a hundred plus for any version of it right now. They're super popular. So I picked up Def Jam Icons for cheap. So I'm gonna go back and play that and see how that's see what that's talking about. I'll come back and let y'all know.
SPEAKER_04Wait, what kind of what kind of games are those?
SPEAKER_01Oh, those are uh like versus fighting games. And it's about it got rappers, different rappers. So you had when the first one came out, it was like DMX was a big one. Punisher, Method Man, Red Man, oh yes, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg.
SPEAKER_05And yeah, we had the buttons. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I know this ain't the music podcast, but you guys hear Snoop Dogg's new album?
SPEAKER_06I did not.
SPEAKER_04Oh I saw he dropped, but he's barking.
SPEAKER_06He's barking. I'll check it out.
SPEAKER_04I just love Snoop Dogg's like style and his like his voice, his flow on a good beats. Yeah, come on. Good, good, like chill, like bass, like bass the uh, but like not synth bass. I'm talking like string bass. Like oh, yeah, he he he he is very uh what's the word? Not slap, but upright? No, no, no, no, no. Electric. Or um not I'm gonna listen to the album.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's go listen to the album. Apple Music, Spotify, Title, whatever streaming purpose, like streaming platform you listen to. YouTube. Yeah, YouTube, Amazon, all of that shit. Yeah. All right. All right. Let's get into our movies and entertainment.
SPEAKER_00What are we cooking with?
SPEAKER_05We got the Avatar League. That's on deck. That's number one. What do we think about? What are we talking about?
SPEAKER_06What are we talking about? Uh Who has seen it?
SPEAKER_07I've seen, I've I've skimmed it. I'm not really that big into Avatar. I saw it! Hater Vic has. Hater Vic.
SPEAKER_01It was it was solid to me for an Avatar movie. Or just to see them bring back those OG characters and what they kind of did. Um it was it was pretty good. I liked, I liked the story. I liked the development of Ain, you know, seeing him from, you know, kid Ain to growing up. But before we get into that, I just want to say I am gonna watch it when it drops. You feel me? I am gonna watch it when it drops. I just I didn't want to not watch it and then get it have it spoiled because everybody's been spamming the fuck out of that shit. So I went ahead and watched it. But yeah, it was a cool watch. Um, it'll be on Paramount Plus in a couple months. So yeah. Nah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I I I agree. That's kind of why I watched it too, because I was like, okay, now that it's out, I don't the future of this movie and the franchise is so uncertain. So I'm just gonna check it out. And also, I ain't gonna lie to you, I'm not gonna get Paramount Plus. Fucking Avatar movie.
SPEAKER_07All right, well, this man's speaking of of heinous activities, everybody. We don't uh dude.
SPEAKER_05We don't condone that.
SPEAKER_04Let me just say, but or do we?
SPEAKER_05I don't know.
SPEAKER_03If so, but but I I I this is this is actually Paramount?
SPEAKER_01I already got Paramount because I got it through Walmart.
SPEAKER_03So this is actually uh what Paramount Plus is bundled of Walmart?
SPEAKER_04Yep. You know what? I'm just gonna slide right past that. Okay, dude. The thing is, what this is something I wanna, I would I do want to bring up bring to the table. Bring before the boys, right? I believe Paramount should look at this situation and be like, you know what? Our bad we're gonna release in theaters. Because me personally, I would still see it in theaters.
SPEAKER_01Do you think it was good enough for theaters?
SPEAKER_04Does it matter?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04If I go to the theater and see a poster that says, Aang, the last airbender. Well, the only reason I'll be in that theater. And like, there's all again, again, like basically saying it for him.
SPEAKER_05He's gonna be in the theater no matter what.
SPEAKER_04And also, and I'm with him on that.
SPEAKER_05Like, I'm Avatar fans will show up.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I'm not even an Avatar fan.
SPEAKER_01It's because it's that's that franchise is not like that's not a I don't think that's a franchise that fills seats in theaters.
SPEAKER_04I don't know, man. Avatar, when it got on Netflix, was number three for most viewed thing on Netflix.
SPEAKER_01That was Netflix.
SPEAKER_05That's a perfect, it's perfect for streaming. It's streaming in theaters are two different things, two different monsters.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but then okay, okay, but then we can also talk about K-pop demon hunters and that being a Netflix original, and then being so popular that it went into theaters, which then it was so popular in theaters that they re-released it in theaters again.
SPEAKER_05Well, that's like once, though. That's like a one but and a lot of people fell in love with you know the soundtrack as well, bro. The song, everything like that. And I get it, but I think there's still there's still some big major differences between streaming and movie theaters because it's like, yes, is this a good movie? I think studios right now, we'll get into it later, right? But I think studios right now are having a hard time like deciding, hmm, is this going to be on a streaming service or do we need to put this movie in theater? See what I'm saying? Because a lot of films will seat people in the theater, and then they know that certain movies or certain franchises, they're gonna watch it on streaming services like Netflix or Paramount or HBO Max. So that's what I'm saying. I think that's one that kind of like Vic was getting to.
SPEAKER_01And I think Paramount's trying to, they're in the middle of trying to upgrade their platform. Like they got a lot of stuff going on with uh the the not the software, but the infrastructure of it. They're doing upgrades, they're adding stuff to it. So I think they're trying to get people to see that. But I do think it, I do think me personally, I wish it was in theaters too, but I kind of see like if they were to put an Avatar movie, the, you know, Airbender in theaters, it would have been like a whole different character, like a whole new story, not them like start, you know, trying to re-retell a, you know, the story with Aang and his friends and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_04The door, yeah, the story did seem kind of random too. It felt like it felt like a story that was like, oh, also this happened a long time ago, and blah, blah, blah. Um, but another point I'll bring to the table is like anime movies exist and have been put in theaters all the time. Like, Dragon Ball has had a couple anime movies. Demon Slayer. Yeah, yeah. Uh One Punch Man, yeah? I don't think or am I thinking of maybe One Piece? Uh I don't remember One Piece. Anyway, definitely, definitely Dragon Ball, definitely maybe Naruto. Naruto. Definitely Dragon Ball, definitely um Demon Slayer. Demon Slayer. And so I mean it's possible.
SPEAKER_05Those are sitting people. We're not we're not saying that. No, I'm we're I think me and Vic were just like basically agreeing that every anime can't be in theaters or can't mo I would say majority, I would say about 60 to 70% of animes deserve to be on streaming. Uh I think that's where their audience is, and maybe like 30% maybe can like build theaters. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04Well 2D movie, 2D art movies. Like the idea of a 2D art like a like a Well, like Boring the Heron and stuff like that? Yeah, like a like a 2D art movie being in theaters is like I don't know. It like feels it's like I'm so not used to that because cart because cartoons are so like tied to TV. They're pushed away by the medium for sure. They are actually that's a good point. I didn't even think about Studio Ghibli movies, however, yeah. I feel so differently about it, but I think it's just also the style is more live action, but it's just animated. It looks like a movie.
SPEAKER_07It's also like incredibly animated. Delicious. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um I think it's just Paramount specifically, too. Because like, yeah, Demon Slayer and Dragon Ball, those are like, you know, they own off, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Paramount this is their specific thing. So, you know, I was just looking at it from the point of what's best for this company with their IP.
SPEAKER_04You know, they put they had which I love this movie, no hate to this movie at all. But they made a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Watch it, Samos.
SPEAKER_05Watch it, watch it, Samos.
SPEAKER_04I will say, No, I'm saying, no, I'm saying is great movie. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, that show.
SPEAKER_05That's an amazing movie.
SPEAKER_04Even though it was a fantastic show, yeah, it was nowhere close to Avatar Last Airbender. That show is perfection.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but you gotta think too, uh what if you're talking about like validity of adding it to a movie theater? Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like like if money is the concern of people not showing up, that's why they wouldn't public.
SPEAKER_07That's 100% the only reason that the people who sold the money put the put the top.
SPEAKER_04Well, that's what I'm saying, but I feel like people would show up.
SPEAKER_07People people some people would show up, but like, and I this is what I was saying. Uh I would totally see Avatar in theaters alone for the visuals because that would. I'm not even really an Avatar fan. I would see it for the visuals, but I'm saying, like, if you're thinking of like, we gotta spend money to rent out the theaters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that looks like a kids movie is gonna beat out money-wise the Avatar movie because I'm not taking my six-year-old to see Aang and The Last Airbender where he needs knowledge of deep story lore for the past 20 years. Yeah, he's like, hey, what what is this? Because the Aang movie literally just injected a story beat that wasn't even there, really, I don't think. And then and then, but these kids can be like, Oh, this is a separate universe, Teenage Moon Ninja Turtles movie with Superfly. Like it was its own.
SPEAKER_04I feel like also starting. But I I do feel like after watching the Avatar movie, you don't have to watch the show because they kind of just Yeah, but I'm not sure. But that's what that's what also made me upset, is that you didn't have to watch the show.
SPEAKER_07You're right, but also those story beats are definitely it's it's also fairly mature. Like that's why people love Avatar.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but it's not the style is pretty mature too. Like that and like anime is adult, yeah.
SPEAKER_07So but also it's like you're not gonna get that okay, because a lot of adults Avatar is a very specific of like this is not a cartoon, this is an upscale thing image, which is like awesome because it is, it's so it's such a rich story, because like I've I've looked into the lore because Ben really likes it. Um, but like, and it's it's super good. But like these you have these adults that like adult animation, and then you have uh children who love cartoons, and then you have adults that don't like like adult animation that don't like 2D. So like these kids are gonna be like, that is too mature for me. These adults are gonna be like, that looks childish for me. You only have the people who really know their shit about it, and that doesn't sell enough tickets to make a movie.
SPEAKER_04But the Dragon Ball movie does?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, for sure, bro. That shit's been around since the 90s.
SPEAKER_05Well, you have to make it has a way longer track record. Yeah, some of those like Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dragon Ball compared to Avatar. Those franchises have a longer history. So those people, like people that have kids or anything like that, they already kind of know the history of those two franchises versus Avatar, which is a little bit more mature. You could make a Mutant Ninja, even a Power Ranger. I'll give you a great example. Power Rangers, right? A lot of people know what, or even if they don't know, like they know the history of Power Rangers versus Avatar, right? The last airbender. Yeah. And I think with Power Rangers, um Power Rangers, and Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, like all of that, it's like ingrained in people's heads versus Avatar.
SPEAKER_07Avatar is really new generation type of isn't Avatar a United States anime? It's not it's not Japanese.
SPEAKER_04It's technically not an anime, yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's just well, it's a paramount original.
SPEAKER_04It's technically not an anime, but it was animated by in Korea.
SPEAKER_07Okay. By the anime artists. It was released as a anime style. But it was so I this anime.
SPEAKER_04For the longest time, I considered it in anime, but I got so much hate from my friends about it who like actually cared, which honestly, like, well, maybe get technical. It looks like an anime, so it is an anime.
SPEAKER_07All right. That conception in and of itself is already fighting an uphill battle because it's coming out of the United States storytelling, right? Like it's coming from America and trying to like fight. It's like Xbox trying to enter the Sony market, the PlayStation market with with Japan. It's like this is like un like unwalked grounds. Oh, I think it's a good idea. You know what I mean? Uh for adult animation. It's like, oh, that American show. It's like, it is amazing. It came out of the gate. It is absolutely incredible. It's probably like got the deepest lore of of so many 2D animations in it. But it's it's also like it doesn't have that brand that would warrant putting it in theaters. It's still big, it's still big. But it's like, but also, listen, I hear a lot about Avatar the Last Airbender from like people like around their 20s and 30s. I don't hear that shit from kids, and I don't hear that shit from 40 plus.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, my young my younger brothers love it, but that's only because I show them exactly. Okay, let me put you on ball. What is this, Paw Patrol? Turn this off. Whoa, how dare you?
SPEAKER_01They're gonna try to get the kids back into it with the new stuff. Listen, no hideous Paw Patrol, but Paw Patrol versus Avatar The Last Airbender?
SPEAKER_07Paw Patrol got a better game.
SPEAKER_04You know what has a better game than Paw Patrol? I'll one up that.
SPEAKER_07They got a good game? Bro, not fucking. I'm getting on that fucking alien isolation.
SPEAKER_02Alien isolation. I play dino trucks. Yeah. Dino trucks. All right, okay.
SPEAKER_05Speaking of live action and speaking of Paramount, uh moving on to um the Call of Duty movie. Which is a live action Call of Duty movie. We knew it was coming. We knew it was coming. It's officially in development by Paramount Pictures and Activision, scheduled for release on June 30th, 2028. Now that is not the actual date because you know dates change all the fucking time with movies and stuff like that. But as far as we know, Paramount is creating a live action Call of Duty movie. What do we think, fellas?
SPEAKER_04I never played any other games, so I have no opinion on it. It's probably gonna be I'm gonna go and see it.
SPEAKER_05Well, you can still have an opinion on the movie, like bringing, you know, a video game, like this is another video game.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I like it, but I just kind of I understand it's a popular game, but I just kind of wish it was like another different game. Okay. Call of Duty just seems like a kind of a safe, boring choice. Okay. You know, like, hey, let's take this war game and make a movie on it.
SPEAKER_01Hey, Vic, what do you think?
SPEAKER_04You know, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I'm I don't know how they're gonna do it because that's a lot of fucking money, by the way. How are you gonna di differentiate this being a Call of Duty movie? To Salmo's point, this is just another war movie. Like, unless the only way they can do it is if they use like obviously the main characters like uh Go, not Ghost, uh what's his name? Mario uh Mr.
SPEAKER_04Duty. What?
SPEAKER_01The main character in uh Modern Warfare. Uh soap called Soap, yeah, you know, shit like that. That's the only way I can think that it would even have a chance. But even then, people are just gonna go in and just watch it.
SPEAKER_04Well, if halfway through, oh my, it's a war movie, then halfway through the movie it changes, and it's actually a zombie duty. Zombie duty zombie movie. So it's like Call of Duty. Zombies. Oh, surprise.
SPEAKER_07Do you know in the 2010s Steven Spielberg wanted to direct a Call of Duty movie? And they were like, nah.
SPEAKER_04No way.
SPEAKER_07But now they got Peter Berg directing it, and he's made this is gonna make a lot of sense nowadays when I tell you what he's directed. Lone Survivor, Battleship, Deep Water Horizon, Mile 22, Patriots Day, Hancock. That makes sense. Spencer Confidential, The Kingdom. I mean, this guy makes a lot Shocker, okay. This guy makes a lot of Oh, he did collateral? He makes a lot of those type of movies. Here's you know, honestly, I'm not mad about this, but he did have like some tweets from like 2013 where he was kind of shitting on Call of Duty, I'm not gonna lie. But as long as like I don't know, see, here's the thing. I don't know for sure uh what that was a while ago, I think, when he was shitting on them, but whatever. Uh what I think is um I I think it's gonna be as good as it can be when it comes out. I gotta be honest. Yeah, with the track record, I think it's exactly as good as it can be. With Paramount's track record, I don't know. I just really hope it does.
SPEAKER_04Halo show.
SPEAKER_07I I really hope it does have a good robust story, which I know that sounds ridiculous to me saying it, but Modern Warfare was able to have one. I'm not saying copy it, but you could, but like just have a good story because I don't want it to be another like video game adaptation where you just get a bunch of fucking famous people, shove it in there, and it's uh call it a day. I I get it. He he's probably eyeing Mark Wahlberg now, like a dog and a bone. But like please just like and but fine, maybe have him in there. I don't know. But like, please, just like make a good, like entertaining war movie. It can be like the Transformers One movie. I love Transformers so much. One was amazing because it didn't try to get too deep in itself to where it just convoluted its whole life. Cause like, 'cause like a lot of these movies, I'm not saying Call of Duty necessarily, but like a lot of these movies and and like big, big like lore-based things are either you either go so basic or you go deep. And if you're making a movie, you probably shouldn't go deep because you're not really trying to commit here, and the studio won't pay you for that. They won't, they won't give you the budget. So I suggest keeping it pretty tight to the chest, making a good story, making it simple. Don't go balls to the wall, action movie, Marvel, superhero shit. I swear, please.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we're not we don't need any of that. We got there with Marvel and DC. We don't need any of that.
SPEAKER_07And I and I hope, and I honestly, I don't think it's gonna, I think the director is gonna try his best to do a good job. I I I honestly believe that the director would would kill it if given freedom, but I don't know if Microsoft and Activision and all them are gonna be looking at him like, yeah, but I need to make a billion dollars.
SPEAKER_05So, you know, yeah, and that's I honestly that's going to be kind of like uh I feel like with movies now, like, and it's just in my personal opinion, I feel like, oh, we need to make a billion dollars. Uh like it gets to a point where yeah, this movie might make a billion dollars, but at the same time, like the plot, the story Um, why don't we make a good movie first? Yeah, let's let's let's let's think about that, right? We have an award-winning, you know, and I'm just not thinking about Call of Duty, I'm just thinking about these other franchises. Like, yes, we have this iconic franchise, but let's make sure the story makes fucking sense.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04What were we saying?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um no, like I I was just trying to think of selling points for the Call of Duty movie. Like, what you get oh my bad, hold on. Excuse myself. Um, no, I yeah, I just had burr. But um like something that like how would you even like I what would what would be cool? Oh, I'm gonna say this right now. Go ahead. On the record, bear trap.
SPEAKER_07Please say it faster. I gotta go to the bathroom so bad.
SPEAKER_04Oh my bad. They need to add the cool things that happened in the Call of Duty games, like the guy jumping out of his jet and shooting the other guy's jet with his missile.
SPEAKER_07I love that idea. I love that idea. That was Battlefield, but I love the I love the intent.
SPEAKER_04Call of Duty Battlefield. Is that a game? Okay. It might as well be a listen.
SPEAKER_01You wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
SPEAKER_05Mario, Mario, why don't you go to the bathroom and we'll go to the next one?
SPEAKER_07I'm taking a bathroom. But I will say this about the Call of Duty movie. I think it's actually incredibly embarrassing. Did not realize it that was battlefield. No, you find well, that was a dope scene. Here's the thing. I don't want it. They can have some of that. Like just just the like like if they put some climactic parks, like one or two or three of those, in the movie as a whole, fine. But dude, I think this should be like a like a gritty. Cause I think it could be cool, because Call of Duty right now is the laughing stock of the first person shooter genre. We got Black Ops 7, where there was literally a drugged out dream sequence in it, where you fight a giant guy breathing, breathing red smoke at the character in like a nightmare scene. Call of Duty is the joke right now, and I love Call of Duty, and we need it back on track. And how cool would it be if you actually had like a pretty good how how how cool would it be if if Call of Duty movie was able to prove everyone wrong and be like, no, this is a real fucking war franchise. That sounds so ridiculous, I'm saying. I truly don't think it will happen. Okay. I don't think it will happen, but there are there have been Call of Duty stories like World at War. If you haven't played it, play it. The original Modern Warfare 2. The original Modern Warfare. Uh Black Ops. Black Ops, the Black Ops ones, uh like the earlier Black Ops ones. Like there, it's possible. The story is there, but but they just need to I don't know. I just really would love them to make it because if they made a good movie with a Call of Duty name, boom. You know?
SPEAKER_01So Mario Point. One scene out of all the games that I think will be dope as fuck in the movie is Modern Warfare 2, that airport massacre.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god. They can't put that in there, man. That would be There's no way they're gonna put some shit like that in there. No way on earth. No way on earth.
SPEAKER_04All of the news stations. That remember that airport massacre scene?
SPEAKER_07Bro, you probably don't well, you didn't have cable, you're also probably too young. But like they, they on all the there was a scene called No Russian in Modern Warfare 2. It came out in 2009, and you were you were a US, I think you were in the CIA, but you were in this like group of Russian like terrorists, and you can't blow your cover, right? So there's a scene where you literally go to an airport and the guy looks at you and he's like, remember, no Russian. Like, don't speak Russian. So they think you're like domestic terrorist or some other terrorist, right? And in the game, me at like 14 years old, I you're just they start shooting everyone at the airport, and you're just like, okay, guys, and you start shooting the people too. So you're massacring this fucking airport worth of people. If you don't shoot the people, they're like, why aren't you shooting them? And they shoot you, and then get this, it's so fucked up. Spoilers for Modern Warfare 2 No Russia mission. Once you kill all the people and they're all getting to the van, the guy's like, like you're about to like dab them up, get in the car, escape. The the main terrorist guy is like, by the way, I knew you were CIA the whole time. So you killed all those fucking people. For nothing.
SPEAKER_00Nothing.
SPEAKER_04But does the story change? Like, would I hypothetically I know you have to piss, but I do not care. Hypothetically.
SPEAKER_07Whatever.
SPEAKER_04Hypothetically.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, I'll answer.
SPEAKER_04If you don't shoot anybody and you actually can you shoot the terrorists?
SPEAKER_07I think it fails the mission.
SPEAKER_04Uh ah, so it's not like it's like, oh, you can change the story by killing the terrorists.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I don't think so. I have the game, I can double check, but I'm pretty sure. Uh yeah, do it. Uh no, I think I think you just get killed or the mission fails.
SPEAKER_01Because the main the main guy isn't there. So that's who they're trying to get the intel along with. Ah, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_07Is he there? I don't know, man. It's been amazing. It might it might have been him. It was crazy. He's just like let you kill his people. He's like, nope.
SPEAKER_04That's crazy. Yeah, it was wild. But that's pretty good.
SPEAKER_07If Call of Duty does have moments like that, it would be kind of interesting. But you know, I'm not gonna lie, I actually agree. That would be pretty cool. Pretty cool. All right. Um, well, TJ left. Uh thought I was taking a break. Uh thanks a lot. Uh thanks a lot, TJ. Hope it was important. Uh moving on. Netflix, Charlie in the Chocolate Factory, and Scooby-Doo first look. Why don't y'all chat about that? Uh have you seen did you see it in the chat that I said?
SPEAKER_04I saw the the picture of Scooby-Doo. Where the door's not even the right color. I was kidding. No, bro. Hold on.
SPEAKER_02Did you laugh at that? Did you think that was funny?
SPEAKER_01Which which Scooby-Doos have you seen, Samos? BRB. Oh, man, that's a good question.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_01You already said you didn't watch what's new Scooby-Doos.
SPEAKER_04I'm like, Yeah, I don't even know what that is. The only thing that I've seen is the Scooby-Doo live action movies. I don't really remember the second one. I just remember the first one mainly. And also the best Scooby-Doo anything anybody's ever made. Sorry about that. Scooby-Doo Mysteries Incorporated. That forever. That's another legendary show that I'll put up watching um Scooby-Doo. Scooby-Doo Mysteries Incorporated. Bro. Where they had that whole backstory where there was another um mystery incorporated like gang of people, and like they became evil because of this like secret, like this this like ancient secret that the city has. Dude, the show was so good. That show was so good. I don't know if you guys have seen it, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_01You gotta go back and watch the movies, the OG movies. Zombie Island. Yes, one of the greatest cartoon movies, yeah, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_04Okay, hold on, wait. I have seen some of the animated movies. Zombie Island, I can't remember that one.
SPEAKER_05That was the first Zombie Island was the the like that was it.
SPEAKER_01That was that was the first one where they did real monsters, and that shit was fire. And then the cyber, uh the cyber movie was real good too. Yeah. That they did, and those movies led up to what's new Scooby-Doo, which was on like Cartoon Network and Tsunami and shit like that. Well, not tsunami, I'm tripping, but Cartoon Network. Um, yeah, you you the newer uh versions of the show was all good, was good too. I watched a lot. I didn't I don't think I watched that one you mentioned though, the mystery and mystery ink. Uh really.
SPEAKER_04I can't. I I honestly I can't believe you haven't seen that one. That's such a good one.
SPEAKER_01I might have seen that, I just don't remember. I gotta look that, I gotta look it up. I'm pretty sure it's streaming too.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I think I watched it on Netflix. I don't know if it's selling Netflix. Uh I don't know if Mario knows. What's the new Scooby-Doo? Or not what's the new Scooby-Doo? Uh what is it? Scooby-Doo Mysteries Incorporated.
SPEAKER_07That's one of the best Scooby-Doo properties of all time.
SPEAKER_04Bam!
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. See? For sure. That one is like up there with uh with like Zombie Island in the original. That one's so good. That's what we just finished it. I feel like I don't know if I I like I don't know if I ever finished it, but Mr. E, dude.
SPEAKER_04Dude, Mysteries Incorporated is so good. Oh, I did watch this. I did watch this. Yeah, it was so good.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_04How it's all like a unified story. I love shows like that where it's like each episode is something random, but there's also an undertone of like a larger story. Every show that has that is Gravity Falls. Yeah. That's another example.
SPEAKER_07It kept me uh yeah, it kept me super invested throughout the whole thing. Like finding all those pieces of like the Aztec stuff. Yeah, dude, so sick. Yeah, that was a good one. Yeah, that's it. What's Blue Scooby Doo too?
SPEAKER_01Because they had so many guest appearances from other uh from celebrities and stuff like that. That was dope as that was super dope. Uh I know Charles Barkley was one of them, NBA player. They had uh other celebrities that come on there. Yeah, though they had they had a good run, bro. It was a good run from 1999 to uh 2005 or six, I believe, when that one ended.
SPEAKER_07That was like uh that was like the early 2000s Scooby-Doo?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was the the movies started, and then it led up to the what's new Scooby-Doo series, and then you know, some other shit they did after that before the Mystery Incorporated came out.
SPEAKER_05Well, what do we think about these pictures of the new Scooby-Doo cast that is supposedly supposed to be on Netflix?
SPEAKER_07I've never been a fan of like the teeny bopper vibe with a lot of properties. Yeah. But the it's different pictures have looked better than than the main photo and the main casting. But like I mean, at the end of the day, if it's good, I will not complain. That's that's the thing. Like I've never I've never been a fan of the teeny bopperization of of a lot of properties. But I if it's good, I I'll shut up.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I'm gonna watch it. Like they trying to get the new generation back into it, because I know it's been a little minute since they dropped anything.
SPEAKER_07Uh Scoob, I think they did Scoob just not do well, right?
SPEAKER_01That was what, a couple years ago? Or is it so bad?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that was 2020. I think it was.
SPEAKER_04That was just a bad movie. Yeah, it didn't do well, so but also I'm just thinking like Scooby-Doo is such a weird uh IP because it's like or not IP, but like it's a it's a weird like show because the show's called Scooby-Doo, but Scooby-Doo's the dog that can kind of talk. He also is like But it's but the thing is then when you make them live action movies in the shows, it's not about Scooby-Doo, it's about everybody else.
SPEAKER_07Well, it's it I feel like it hasn't really been about Scooby-Doo since the 60s.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's something.
SPEAKER_07It was always in the 60s, it was like Scooby-Doo, but nowadays it's just like all the mysteries and stuff, which like it isn't a problem.
SPEAKER_04It like I I don't mind it, but at the same time, I'm just like, what are you gonna do? Is Scooby gonna be complete like a completely rendered out dog? No, uh oh. And then how is he gonna eat well with the honestly with the live action ones, it wasn't terrible.
SPEAKER_07No, yeah, even the yeah, that's why I said it's live action.
SPEAKER_01Did it did it great.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I didn't mind it in the live. I totally forgot about those.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. But I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I don't know what uh Stupi don't have to have full conversations with people because he never really did. He was just, it was like simple shit.
SPEAKER_00Like he don't be that way about that.
SPEAKER_07I was glad I didn't even hear that. Yeah. I feel like it's too early to tell, but at the end of the day, it is a streaming service trying to revive a beloved property, and I don't know how many times that goes well.
SPEAKER_04For me, I'm like, leave it.
SPEAKER_07I will say this.
SPEAKER_04Too soon. We don't need something else, Scooby-Doo.
SPEAKER_07Not to not to push the um the track further along uh prematurely, but that new you know, Netflix animation don't mess around, I will say that. And that fucking that fucking Charlie and the Chaga Factory. Oh, so fire, bro. That's some Klaus looking. Dude, Klaus looks good. One of the best Christmas movies. Yeah, I still I forgive a lot of Netflix sins for coming out with one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time. So if if if it's gonna kind of look like that vibe, I'm watching that.
SPEAKER_04What did you think about Wonka?
SPEAKER_07Uh never saw it. Never saw it. Uh I knew a lot of people went crazy for it.
SPEAKER_01I thought it was I liked Wonka.
SPEAKER_07It was hard for me to watch a movie where Jeremy Allen White exists and they didn't cast him as well.
SPEAKER_04I'm not gonna lie, I did not like Timothy Salome as Wonka. Like, I liked him. He wasn't like quirky and or awkward.
SPEAKER_07Well, that's another that's another thing, right? It's like I like Timothy Salome, but that acting choice was interesting. It's just like Tom Holland as Nathan Drake. Yeah. I was like, brother, I like Tom Holland, but like I like Tom Holland, but that's not Nathan Drake? No. Brother, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_07Way really did, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_07I'm not hey, I'm not getting mad at Tom Holland for chasing the bag.
SPEAKER_05No.
SPEAKER_07No, no, no. It is crazy.
SPEAKER_05Well, talking about chasing the bag, um.
SPEAKER_07I don't even know what segue that means. Oh, right. This doesn't even make sense. Is it even real, Vic? Was that even real? So it You say what? Uh what are you talking about?
SPEAKER_05You see, just go ahead. Infinity Visions. No, no, no. Mario, go ahead.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, I don't know what I don't know what it is. Infinity visions, let me tell you.
SPEAKER_05Okay, okay. Well, or a better explanation. I just I just even know what this is. Go ahead, Salmos.
SPEAKER_04Okay, okay. Also, if anybody has better information on it, correct me if I'm wrong. I mean, I have you right now. What I understand is that Dune part three and Avengers Doomsday are coming out at the same on the same day. Yeah. And uh uh Dune actually got all the uh IMAX theaters uh ahead of time. So they basically rented out all the uh the theaters um iMac theaters. So in response uh Disney Disney made this new format of movie watching called Infinity Vision, where they just play their movie on the best screen that uh any theater has. So they will be playing Avengers Doomsday on the Big D, the triple D, the whatever those screens are called in theaters, but it literally means nothing.
SPEAKER_07So that's just that's not that that's not what's the thing.
SPEAKER_05Is a new premium large format, PLF, uh theatrical certificate certification launched by the Walt Disney Studios in April 2026. To guarantee the highest quality viewing experience, it certifies auditoriums featuring screens over 50 feet wide, okay? Laser projection and premium immersive audio. The initiative launches with Avengers Endgame re-release. So the first film that's going to be using Infinity Vision is going to be the re-release of Avengers Endgame and then Avengers Doomsday. Okay, that makes sense. It's a Disney property all cool. Uh the technical requirements uh to be certified, theaters must have a screen uh width of at least 50 feet, high contrast laser projection, systems for maximum brightness and color accuracy, and premium high channel count audio systems. The purpose, uh, and I'm gonna stop with this, created to provide a consistent premium experience for Disney Marvel, Star Wars films, and to compete with IMAX, especially after IMAX screens were booked for other films like Doom Part 3. So, yes, they Disney just did fuck y'all and they're gonna create their own viewing experience, which cool.
SPEAKER_04Yes, but that's the thing, that's the thing. It makes sense though, it's not their own. It's not all they're doing is infinity vision. All infinity vision is, is to let the audience know, hey, audience, we went to this theater and we were like, okay, this is a good one to put this movie in.
SPEAKER_05I think the technology are you kidding? I think the technology is going to be a good idea.
SPEAKER_01I think they're trying to upgrade it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Wait, so it's so they're trying to justify it. They're trying to correct us into watching Avengers Endgame again. Wait, so is this just- I saw that movie. It came out years ago.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, you're talking about it was awesome! You're talking about two different things, though, Salmos, because the the Avengers Endgame, they're saying this is a supposed to be a direct sequel to that. That's why they're re-releasing it. And they're gonna add uh they're lying to you. I agree with you that it I don't think it's smart, but I'm just saying that they're trying to add a cutscene to in-game to kind of to make all the fuck-ups of phase four to five.
SPEAKER_05There is a cutscene from in-game that they have gonna release on the Affinity Vision.
SPEAKER_07They definitely added within the past three years. Yeah, what is it? Stranger things or a scene.
SPEAKER_04They're just gonna make up something new every time. Also, are you like, who do I all right. This is another conversation we're gonna have right now.
SPEAKER_05Calm down. Calm down.
SPEAKER_04Who actually cares about Marvel right now?
SPEAKER_05I kind of I think I do. I kind of think I care. I'm not at the level where I used to be like Marvel everything, but I do still like I feel like with Avengers Doomsday, I feel like they are trying to bring a new trying to get people excited. Yes, that that too. But I also understand. Understand this. Marvel has had a lot of fuck ups in the last couple of years. Yeah. And I think with the new marketing, the new team, and everything like that, because a lot of people got fired, right? Because they were shooting out movies left and right, left and right, left and right, left and right. They weren't following the program that they started on, right? So now, yes, Infinity Vision is um, you know, because they couldn't get into IMAX, but it is a different technology. Just looking at the standards and everything like that availability, it says with 75 domestic and over 300 global screens expected at launch. So that's really, that's really not a lot of uh screens. The program may be eventually to cover up to 5,500 qualified screens worldwide later on. But the thing about it is they said it's really a fuck you to IMAX, right? Using uh it's a really that was the good that's literally the goal because Doom Because IMAX hasn't upgraded in a long time.
SPEAKER_01We still we're in 2026 and we're still not watching movies in 4K in the theaters. Correct. Wait, what is IMAX?
SPEAKER_04I do give 4K? Yeah, but IMAX is a different format. You see more. Like, like you know how like oh the your typical width is I don't remember, of like a screen watching a movie or whatever, IMAX is woman you're getting you're seeing more, and then there's all you're they're packing more. Um man, what was it? It's I am I am I uh I'm messing up the explanation.
SPEAKER_06I have a question.
SPEAKER_04I need to look it up.
SPEAKER_07Mario's over here raising his fucking hand. Go ahead, Mario. So wait a second. Wait a second. Go ahead. Are you telling me and because I don't know, I don't know if I'm I'm understanding this correctly. Go ahead. Are you telling me that Disney is so willing to up like one up IMAX? Yeah they're going into theaters and upgrading the theaters theaters themselves?
SPEAKER_04They're not touching the theater, they're going in to see if it is upgraded. And if it is, then they're like, well, play the movie here, and if it's not, then they leave.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. So if it's not, what if nine million theaters within a two-foot radius are are not? So they don't play dudes?
SPEAKER_04There's only like 40 IMAX screens in the US or something. Like actually 40. Actually, actual IMAX screens.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. A lot of people have one close by me. Yeah. I think what they're gonna do is Disney has already, you know, they've already done this. Disney is this is what they're good at. They're going, they've already placed certain theaters and you know, in certain locations, like, okay, that's gonna be Infinity Vision. And, you know, Disney Walt Disney, the company, wouldn't um, to my like to my opinion, they wouldn't launch Infinity Infinity Vision unless they had at least 20 to 30 theaters already ready for that tech. You see what I'm saying? But my thing is again, it is a fuck you to IMAX because and again, yes, did did did Walt Disney wait a while for the the date for Avengers Doomsday? Yeah, Dune 3 said, bitch, here, we're gonna, we're gonna take the IMAX from you. You know what I'm saying? I knew this was gonna happen. I was like, well shit, if they're coming out on the same day, like fuck. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_07Well, I'm gonna say Dune, I think I don't know if it's because of Tom Holland got getting like a concussion or what, but Doomsday, sorry, Doomsday had to delay itself. So they probably booked that IMAX that was supposed to fucking come out, and now they're like, fuck. Yeah, it's because Tom Holland did get Tom Holland got a concussion, yes. And you can't have Doomsday without Spider-Man because ever since the Kang fuck up pivot, they're like, we don't have any movies to set up Doomsday. Probably Spider-Man helps a little bit with that, maybe and Fantastic Four did. Well, dude, that well, that's they had to delay it.
SPEAKER_04Well, that's what I'm gonna say. That's all I was gonna say. Leading into who actually cares about Marvel.
SPEAKER_05I think millions and millions of people care about Marvel. I think they just want Marvel.
SPEAKER_04Was the only good one that came out of the world? I think Fantastic was a good movie. You didn't like Fantastic? I did not like Fantastic Four. I don't think I think you're telling me you're gonna you beat. First of all, okay, I get the trope that Galactus is supposed to be a huge character that's actually super easy to beat, and he loses an everything.
SPEAKER_05No, Galactus is not that easy to beat. Here's the thing. They didn't beat him, technically. No, they did him. They they just sent him into another dimension. The thing about it is the invisible waste.
SPEAKER_04Oh my gosh, you're gonna tell me that the way that you beat Galactus is you just have your mom push him into a hole, it into a hole.
SPEAKER_06Well, they can't beat him.
SPEAKER_04Fire guy did nothing, human. Stretchy dude did nothing.
SPEAKER_05Silver Surfer did nothing.
SPEAKER_04The only person that did something is Silver Surfer who who who goes and pushes at the very end, and then mom, and then your mom.
SPEAKER_01Well beat you missed the setup the entire time. You missed the setup. Because they're all scientists, so they that's how they usually beat their enemies. They like experiment and like if you read the comics, like they were really big on the show.
SPEAKER_05Fantastic four is such a older Fantastic Four is one of the first comics of Marvel. So a lot of people didn't understand. And I knew a lot of people wouldn't understand, like, kind of like the history of the Fantastic Four. That's why when you watch the movie, they really didn't go into like the backstories. They just said, like, here, this is how they get it. Well, hold on. Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Well, I'm just saying, like, we've had Fantastic Four movies in the past, so everybody, I feel like people would already know Trash. Those movies were trash.
SPEAKER_05Hey, not too much, not too much on those. No, those were trash. I'm talking about the one with Michael B. Jordan.
SPEAKER_04We get it. Oh, definitely. It's Spider-Man, you know? But with the Fantastic Four, I felt like there were so many elements to it that were just kind of like, oh, this happens, and then like this happens, then this happens, then this happens. Like when they come back from space and they tell the world, hey, and spoilers, hey, I mean, to save a Galactus, was like, hey, give me your kid, or I'm gonna destroy the planet Earth. And they were like, We're not gonna do that. And they came back to Earth and they like, hey, planet Earth, there's a giant planet-eating person, entity who's coming to eat Earth, and he was like, But I will spare your planet if you give me your kid, and we said no.
SPEAKER_02Everybody gets angry and an uproar, then, like, either later that day or like the next day or whatever, invisible woman Sue walks out, walks out into a mob that's outside their whatever tower, which also the mob was very small, a very small mob, which I'm like, if they're in the middle of New York like this, there would be thousands of people, but very small mob, whatever. She walks out like unprotected and then makes the lamest speech I've ever heard in my life. The speech was like, We're all it this was the speech, we're all family.
SPEAKER_05But somos, you have to understand they're in a different universe. She's right. It's not, it's not like that's a different the multiverse, like they're in a different universe where everyone in that their timeline, they're the only, they're the only superheroes in their timeline. And they save the planet multiple times. Exactly. So that's why people, they love the Fantastic Four. Now, if it would have been in Earth 616, it would have been a different motherfucking issue. But if we're talking about their universe, they are the only superheroes in that universe. So it's you have to look at it like that. Because when I first, well, I watched it two times. When I first watched it, I'm like, well shit, like, da-da-da-da. But I then I understood, like, they have been saving their world. They're the only people that can save their world. So it was different.
SPEAKER_01And I agree with you that the movie is not a it's not a perfect movie at all. It's not, but I did enjoy it the first watch.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Just because of the visuals. I like what they did with Galactus, like how they did him justice. Um, Silver Surfer, her parts was cool. I kind of, you know, wish they would have done the the other Silver Surfer, but I know why they they did her, so it's cool. Oh my god. But what movie did you say you that was good to you, Salmos, out of the you said there was one that was good. What was that one? Oh, you like Thunderbolts?
SPEAKER_04Thunderbolts, but yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like I feel like Thunderbolts was it was a good movie, but it didn't push the MCU to anything.
SPEAKER_04It was like Well, that's what that's what I was gonna say. Thunderbolts was very good, but also you're gonna tell me to understand what's actually happening in this movie and actually for the point of this movie to hit home, I have to watch wait, how many different shows and movies?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, I think To watch to understand what's going on.
SPEAKER_05All the shows. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think that's why they put the Thunderbolts together. That's why I think they they're trying to what I think they look very good. What I think Marvel is trying to do is they're trying to tie up some loose ends. And I think with the re-release of Endgame, and that I think it's gonna be two or three cutscenes that they're trying to add with the re-release, and then after that, it goes automatically um into the city.
SPEAKER_04I don't know if I I don't know if I mess with that ankle eye.
SPEAKER_05We're gonna go see it.
SPEAKER_04It does 100. First of all, I just want to say again, I'm saying things like who cares about Marvel? This movie was bad, blah, blah, blah. I'm gonna be there. Opening night, I'm gonna be there. I mean, I have to see what happened. I mean, I have to check it out. Dude, but at the same time, I'm like, even with the Fantastic Four movie, like there was so much that even to the point that you were talking about, TJ, where you were like, oh, but you have to think about how long they've been on here, and like, oh, they've saved the world multiple times, blah blah blah. But for I'm just thinking for me as an as the audience, I feel like I have to feel that. I feel like I have to know they should show me that. Like, there should have been more of a montage at the beginning showing what happened, and then also just like uh my brain exploded and I lost my lost my entire train of thought.
SPEAKER_01Okay, we'll we'll we'll anyway.
SPEAKER_03Well, we we we can move on.
SPEAKER_01Let me let me read this before we move on. This is about the Infinity Vision, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Go ahead.
SPEAKER_01Disney's Infinity Vision certification requires a screen width of at least 50 feet, laser projection, which all IMAX uh don't have, some of them don't have laser projection.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_01Umy 7.1. There are currently 5,500 screens globally that qualify. What is laser projection? It just it's it gives you the cleaner visuals compared to the the light, the lamp uh projection, the old school lamp projection that a lot of theaters use.
SPEAKER_05So basically any theater that has Adobe Vision, like the one here, um it's going to be infinity vision. So basically, we we've already the theater here has already been upgraded to have infinity vision. One of the people that worked there already told me about how they upgraded.
SPEAKER_01That's why I show I love A. I was about to shout out AMC because like AMC Stops. They're one of the few companies that actually put money into upgrading regular theaters, not just the IMAX.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I think those are gonna be the type of studios that this Infinity Vision will be able to like show.
SPEAKER_05So great conversation though. I feel like we really um we really hit the nail on that. I feel like um, yeah, I can't wait till it comes out. I want to see more about it. I want to learn more about it. So, Infinity Vision, um, we will see you soon. Um moving on. Moving on. Clayface. The teaser, drop for Clayface. What do we think? I think it's amazing. I gave the teaser a 10 out of 10.
SPEAKER_07I think it looks really good. I was I was originally curious because I really wanted it to be part of the Batman universe, realistic, but then I'm like, wait, I don't know how like they're they're going for like the best of both worlds where it's like horror movie, but unrealistic, like Clayface's transformation. So I'm like, maybe it'll be good. It'll be cool to have a DCU with like horror movies, super fun Superman movies. Yeah, that's I think I think that's awesome. The differing stuff is very DC, like it seems very DCS, like animated, and I really like that. Now I'm just hoping that wherever WB ends up is able to keep the DCU uh intact.
SPEAKER_01But are you sure about that?
SPEAKER_07Are you sure? Are you sure about that? Are you sure about that? Are you sure about that? But I think it's a great teaser, it looks super fun. I love I love Clayface, I love that vibe.
SPEAKER_04Okay, that that trailer looked fucking awesome. Yeah. Very cool. And I loved the Batman. I love the Batman. That was like, I'm not gonna lie, that's my favorite form of Batman. Batman was horrible.
SPEAKER_05I gave it a one out of ten.
SPEAKER_04Nah, I loved it. I'm just fucking with you. I can see him smiling.
SPEAKER_07I don't even think I don't know what human being would give that movie one out of ten. Dude, that movie is so good.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. I had to stop everything. I was like, I I had to I had to address. Anyway, uh, and then the penguin show. I don't know if you guys saw that. Dude, I watched it with my dad. It was good. So good. Good show. So, so good. And so I'm just like, if you guys can continue with this track of like intense dark horror Batman, kind of, kind of a little bit of uh what's that comic book? Batman.
SPEAKER_07Oh, um, are you talking about uh Batman Returns?
SPEAKER_01No, no, he's talking about the new stuff that's been dropped.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's like more intense or whatever. Dude, it's it's been sick. I've actually been looking into it, bro. Have you seen Absolute Universal? Absolute, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Absolute Batman Universe. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Dude, fire, bro.
SPEAKER_07Dude, have you seen Batman Caped Crusader on Amazon Prime?
SPEAKER_04No. What?
SPEAKER_07Brother.
SPEAKER_04Oh, is that the original show that they like or like a the reanimated? It's not it's not a reanimated based stuff that's like continuation or something.
SPEAKER_07I don't think it has really anything to do with it. It's his own thing, I think. I don't think it has anything to do with the animated series. I know what you're talking about. Whoa, what's that? So it's like all the technology is like 1950s radio stuff, but Batman is like still kind of Batman. Yeah. But it's like it's a limited series, I think it's only eight episodes, but it's gritty and it's real, and it's like fucking awesome. Definitely watch it. It's called I think it's Batman. It's or it's just all the time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I have time because I see it all the time.
SPEAKER_07Dude, it is if you like the gritty Batman stuff, it is one of the best animated Batmans I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_04And if you look at that uh the Batman show, that the Batman animated show.
SPEAKER_07Oh, The Batman, dude, like 07, where the first season had the greatest theme song of all time and they fucking changed it.
SPEAKER_03Holy shit. And then they chant in it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we all gotta be on couches in the club next year. Like we all gotta be on the couch because the way that y'all are just sitting there having motherfucking fun and shit like that. It didn't be.
SPEAKER_04Did you see that Batman Beyond uh the concept art that leaked and stuff like that a little while ago? I think I saw something like that. It was cool. It was a vibe. Dude, they were yeah, they're making a Batman Beyond movie that was gonna be in the version. Yeah, and they canceled it. I don't know if you guys saw that. Oh, my bad. I don't know if you guys saw that. Dude, it looked so awesome. What a miss opportunity, man. Batman Beyond was so cool. Y'all look crazy.
SPEAKER_01The clayflace trailer looks good. Um the only thing that I only thing I got questioned about is how the fuck is this gonna help help the DCU? Like, bro, uh you got you started with Superman, and that makes sense, right? That's the first DC comic character. Then you got Supergirl, which okay, you know, this leads into the sequel of Superman. Like, okay, I can see I can get with the vibe. Then you, oh, but then the third movie is gonna be a sealess Batman villain. Here's the thing. Wait, is it a movie or a show?
SPEAKER_07It's a movie. It's a full movie. Well, movie. What? It's a movie. It's a three-expool. It's a 23rd October 33. Here's what I think. I'm gonna call their bluff low key. Oh my god. I think this movie was in production so long pre-DCU that James was like, pick it up. Let's make it up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Wait, so it's confirmed to be DCU.
SPEAKER_07I think so, right?
SPEAKER_04So it's not like the Batman where it's its own thing.
SPEAKER_07It's not the Batman where it's own thing.
SPEAKER_01Let me throw that out. Yeah. Let me. I'm pretty sure it's.
SPEAKER_04Honestly, I'd rather it, uh me personally, I'd rather it be with that Batman universe.
SPEAKER_07Oh, it's not gonna be the Batman no matter what. It's not gonna be in the Batman universe no matter what. Like I don't even know what they're doing. That's too unrealistic. That's too unrealistic.
SPEAKER_04I don't know what they're gonna do with that then. Like, are they just gonna make another the Batman movie? Yeah. Batman, the Batman 2, and then just be like these are separate.
SPEAKER_01And that's why they have Batman to DCU because they say they want the Batman 2 to come out before James got away.
SPEAKER_07Yep. Dude, uh, here's the thing too that's really weird. In creature commandos, which is supposed to be canon with everything in the DCU, people are saying, like, oh, so the clayface playing video games on the fucking couch is that clayface? And people are like, well, it could be, or in the comics, there are two different fucking clay faces. There's like a bunch of clay faces. So it's like, I don't know what's happening, bro. But I get what you're saying. It's like, why are we doing the C-list or D list, whatever villain? I mean, I like clayface a lot, but I get what you're saying. What I like, yeah. What I think it is, I think it was its own thing. And they're just they're pulling it in. I think I think that might have been the case. And honestly, if it is, I think it is Mythic Armand.
SPEAKER_04I'm not mad if they just put it in. Actually, if it is its own thing, that would just it for my heart, it'd just be too confusing, and I'd be like, what are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_07It's part of the DCU. Well, it'll be cool, it'll be cool until it it reaches the venom problem where how it connects to the main universe doesn't exist.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's like James Gunn is gonna have to find a way to connect Clayface.
SPEAKER_04Did you say Clayface is part of the DCU?
SPEAKER_05It did say DCU, yeah. The DCUs. But James Gunn is gonna have to find a way, which I know he probably will, to connect Clayface to it's just yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because the Lantern show is also connected, right?
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah. The DC Lantern.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but that's it, that's also in a different style.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Called Plane.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Oh, no, no, no, no. Hold on, hold on. Clayface is scheduled to be released by Warner Brothers Pictures in the United States on October 23rd, like I said, 2026. It will be part of DCU's chapter one, Gods and Monsters. So it will be different, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So it it Yo, that is a very cool that is that is a cool story.
SPEAKER_05It's a different, so Gods and Monsters is a is is part of the DCU, but it's a separate thing.
SPEAKER_01What? I thought all of it was got the whole first chapter was Superman and it's confusing, bro.
SPEAKER_00It's not it's not like the phases. The one is phase one god.
SPEAKER_07Hold on, hold on. Isn't it not the clayface from Creature Commandos?
SPEAKER_06Is it not that clayface?
SPEAKER_05DCCOC, gods and monsters. DC was poured to be abroad, but not blanket reset of the DC EU on January 31st. We will see. It it's just it's confusing right now, but we will see. Hopefully, James Gunn can put all of it together.
SPEAKER_07Just add him on Twitter, he'll respond.
SPEAKER_05Bye, Mario.
SPEAKER_01I mean, he will. Take this with what you will. Yes. I saw some news updates from like Comic-Con where they dropped a new supergirl trailer. Um Avengers got some new looks and stuff like that. Uh, I was I heard that a lot all the Marvel content that was coming up, everybody was super excited for. And a lot of the DC stuff that was shown uh was not didn't get a huge reaction. So take that was what you will.
SPEAKER_04Interest interesting. I will. I don't know, I don't know. All right, I will. Moving on. I feel very very d funny about Marvel right now. And it's kinda uh it's kinda like Maybe it's because I'm like out of the game. Maybe it's because I'm just kind of like it's it's just not building. You know what I'm saying? Like Doomsday. I am I'm not very hype for Doomsday because there is no hype to build off of.
SPEAKER_01Well they they there's no backstory.
SPEAKER_04No backstory from Kang. And even with Kang, there for me, there was kind of hype for Kang, but Kang was shown as this weak.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, when he was beat the fuck up by Yeah, bro.
SPEAKER_05That shit's crazy. I think that was the worst decision that they could have ever did in Marvel.
SPEAKER_07And then Kang came out, he didn't kill a single one of them old motherfuckers who like no no no Hank Lip. No, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_01And it was they killed off and messed up so many villains along the way too. Like Modoc. Yeah. He's like a he's supposed to be a G in this in this uh Marvel shit, and they fucked him over. And the leader in Captain America, they kind of fucked him over too. So I'm like, damn.
SPEAKER_05So when they did Kane like that, when I saw the movie, when I was in theaters watching that fucking movie, I got so pissed because I'm like, you have fucking Ant-Man out of all people beat up, like beat Kang, Kang the fucking conqueror. Come on now. But Moot, I'm still pissed about that.
SPEAKER_04See, that's what I'm saying. Like, how could we be excited for this movie when the only hype is one movie where the end credit scene is if you know, you know.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, dude. Also, like, you know, like I actually don't. What do I not know?
SPEAKER_04The the end credit scene in Fantastic Four is Doctor Doom.
SPEAKER_06And it wasn't even Robert Down to Jones and picks up their child. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember that. But it was like, okay.
SPEAKER_02That's it, dude. That's it. That's all the hype we have for this next Avengers movie.
SPEAKER_07Bro, remember, dude, the lead up to Thanos, bro? Bro. Fine.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, multiple after credits scenes, multiple heroes. And they're lost. They lost it because of what?
SPEAKER_04Bad storytelling. I don't know. Money. Why did they lose it? Greed.
SPEAKER_05There you go.
SPEAKER_04And then an actor doing something stupid.
SPEAKER_05Or how about how about like I'm gonna be can I be completely honest? Can I be completely honest? Be frank. I'd rather you be frank. I speaking of Marvel. Kane the Conqueror, the actor that played Kane the Conqueror, yes, he did some fucked up shit. Okay. I we just live in a world now where everything is if you do something wrong, you're automatically cut, you're automatically fired, you're automatically like, and I get it, what he did was fucked up. But there's two parts of that situation. And I feel like we just drop the ball on, like, oh, well, this is in the media, or this is, you know, we have to fire him. There have been so many people that have been brought back to the Marvel universe, to the DC universe that have done worse things.
SPEAKER_01And he beat the he beat the main charges. He got hit with the pettiest charge.
SPEAKER_05When I think about that whole situation, I'm just like, okay. It just it's like, yes, he did some fucked up shit, but how many actors still employed by Marvel, Disney, DC have done far worse? And I'll let y'all and I'll let y'all sit on that.
SPEAKER_07Go ahead, go ahead, Mario. Well, what I was gonna say is you could have A, recast. Mm-hmm. Uh there was no fucking B. I just think they ruined Kang. They ruined Kang when they had Kang. Yeah, that's all. They ruined Kang when they kanged it when they had Kang. It was. Kang was an excuse. I would love to say, I would love to say, fuck, man, Jonathan Majors, you know, if and I want to say, like, listen, whatever people think of you, if like if it if it if it matters for a storyline, like, why not like figure it out? Yeah. But like, brother, they ruined it when he didn't have anything against him. Yeah, they did. I can't believe it.
SPEAKER_05That storytelling was uh that storytelling was awful.
SPEAKER_07Brother, have you seen brother?
SPEAKER_05Oh, sorry, go on. Kang the Kang the Conqueror is someone that you cannot really like when you we talk about Doom, yes, but Kang the fucking Conqueror, they are like that is a that is a different level.
SPEAKER_07That was supposed to be Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man, right? It wasn't like a variant, it was Kang the Conqueror. Yes.
SPEAKER_04He looked like he even had his comic book look or whatever.
SPEAKER_07I don't know how much y'all watch um Marvel animated too much. I don't, but I think I saw an animated fight with Kang the Conqueror versus the literal Avengers. And he destroyed him. He destroyed him, and that motherfucker was sitting down. Yeah. What? He was in his chair in a throne, like 90% of that fight, and he was fighting the Avengers. Yeah. And this motherfucker loses to Ant-Man. Yeah. And I think that's where they lost.
SPEAKER_05That I think that's where the the the Marvel universe took a deep dive into like what the fuck? Because I remember after that movie, the reviews were like, really? Kane the Conqueror beat up by Ant-Man. Okay, whatever.
SPEAKER_07And then yeah, and then half that movie was that. Oh, sorry. The the the half that movie was like that recast of of uh of Cassie from uh of Ant-Man's daughter. I'm like, come on, man. Just to make the new Avengers. Come on, bro. And that got canceled. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I'll I can't imagine anybody actually being like going. Uh I don't know. I'm not gonna say that because there's definitely some of the things.
SPEAKER_01There's just so many ideas that I think.
SPEAKER_04And the Young Avengers, I remember watching Young Avengers when I was young.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think they use that as an excuse, bro. Kane, that had not hit them pivoting from Kane had nothing to do with like the mishaps that happened leading up to now. They just fucked up. They were just fucking up so much that they was like nobody's excited about Kane. But you know what somebody would be excited for? Let's get Doom. I think people would like Doom. So that's through.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I said Kane, can you stop making bad Avengers movies?
SPEAKER_07Oh yeah. What about what about what about I I was trying to think of a Raising Canes joke. Oh my god. But Raising Canes. Anyways, no, but but here's the thing, bro. I think they also, bro, they stretch themselves way too thin because it used to be alright, guys, we got two Marvel movies a fucking year. Yeah. We gotta make it count, we gotta put the cameos in, we gotta, we gotta plan ahead, we gotta plan ahead nowadays. It's like, hey guys, remember Endgame? Remember the most generational run of any superhero movie of all time that was unprecedented and so good? Because normally superhero movies that try to connect suck balls. These fucking didn't. And also, it's like uh they they they're like, what if right after the greatest superhero run of all time in theaters, we just came out with a bunch of six episode shows that will kind of mattered but didn't, and you and you didn't have to watch them, guys, don't worry, you didn't have to watch them, but if you didn't, then it you didn't really understand. And also, like, with so many of these shows, people I'll talk to people and they'll be like, Oh, it was really good. That limited series was really good. It's like, but if you're watching that shit live for the first five episodes, useless. Useless doesn't matter until the sixth one. And I was like, Oh, I like it. It's like uncovering the mystery and all the it's like, bro, they're just they're just teasing us with cameos that aren't really real.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, dude, I actually I'm not gonna lie to you, I kind of agree because with uh was it WandaVision? Yeah, WandaVision was episode one, two, three, four. Wow, this is actually awesome. I'm into the mystery. What is actually happening? What is going on? And then, like the last two, last three episodes, it kind of felt like they were just like, and yeah, and done.
SPEAKER_07Remember that Quicksilver film? And they teased Quicksilver. I was just about to say that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they teased Quicksilver and we got a crappy Marvel cinematic fight scene, and then it was like, hold on now. Well, they're telling me that a a superhero enslaved a town of people and made them and like put their minds through blenders or whatever they said, and then at the very end, they're just like, okay. Well, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I did that.
SPEAKER_05So here's the thing. We we're we're getting a little bit more. I'll connect you like in two minutes. Wanda is the fucking Scarlet Witch. Okay, so the Scarlet Witch, yes, she enslaved a whole town. Scarlet Witch is literally you have Scarlet Witch and you have Gene Gray the Phoenix. Those are probably the two most powerful entities of the X-Men and just like Marvel Universe, right? Besides um uh the that child, uh oh my god, Fantastic Four. Reed Richards. So here, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, what's the kid's name? Ben, not Ben. Uh I don't remember.
SPEAKER_07Oh, what Reed's son? Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Was it Francis or something? No. Hold on. What is what is Reed Richards son?
SPEAKER_04Um, what is it in there? Don't look it up. First person to get it, Lynn's. All right, well, I'm not gonna get it.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I'll catch it.
SPEAKER_07No, it's it's uh Franklin. Frank.
SPEAKER_05No, you looked it up. I saw you yourself. No, I didn't. I didn't look anything up. I just thought of the place where check his wrist, he's got an Apple Watch. Yeah. Yeah. But anywho, listen, we we we got we we have so much to discuss, uh like preparing to the re-release of Endgame and Spider-Man and everything like that. And I I will say this. I'm excited. I'm I'm waiting for Spider-Man to see what it's gonna produce. Um but in the meantime, I'm excited about this right here: Coyote and Acme versus Acme. I can't believe it. Yeah. You know, this has been in development since uh 2018. Um Warner Brothers Discovery initially shelled Coyote versus Acme in November 2023, and then uh they said, no, we want to bring it back. So uh we are finally getting it, and I'm excited because this is a childhood, like it, I don't know. It's it it is what it is, but I love it.
SPEAKER_01It looks good, though.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'm excited. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Thinking about Space Jam and all the Looney Tunes, you know, movies that we've got. This shit looks like the perfect blend of animation, real world shit. Yeah. Like the way they got it set up with like the court style and you know, uh, you know, oh corporations and corporations trying to control shit. I'm like, yeah, they did the the the idea is cool. Is it gonna be good? I don't know, but I'm excited to see.
SPEAKER_07What like what's a it's like a Looney Tunes movie that got shelved forever and Warner Brothers didn't want to release it, but now for some I don't know how it's being released. Like it was it's been shelved for so long. Like it was a lot of people.
SPEAKER_04And I I saw I saw the trailer and watching the trailer, I'm like, what?
SPEAKER_05Well, so it's about it's about time they started opening the Looney Tunes like box, bro. Like we need, like, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Like Yeah, Looney Tunes has been hadn't gotten nothing in a long time. Exactly.
SPEAKER_07They got Space Jam 2, and that's it. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's shit for me. For me, I'm just like, well, for me, I'm just like, what is Looney Tunes?
SPEAKER_05Samos, we will debrief you later on about what Looney Tunes is.
SPEAKER_04Okay, okay. I know what Looney Tunes is, but like what's the story?
SPEAKER_07What are they using?
SPEAKER_04It is what is the if I say, hey, if I'm trying to recommend someone Looney Tunes, be like, oh, what is it about?
SPEAKER_07I don't think Looney Tunes really had like an overarching story. It was literally like Saturday morning cartoons.
SPEAKER_04It's kind of just like Mickey Mouse.
SPEAKER_07I mean, each character does have there's not really a story, it's just worlds and like it's a universe and they have cameos, but I think the core of it is really like here's uh is like a bite-sized episode that takes place in like like like Marvin the Martian. It's like, oh, this is on Mars.
SPEAKER_05No, no, no. Like, think about it like this. You have so think about Disney, how they have Mickey, Minnie, all of them, and then think about Warner Brothers. Warner Brothers is Looney Tunes.
SPEAKER_04But like, I guess what I'm saying is how do you bring that? Like, what do you mean bring that?
SPEAKER_07Solos is wondering, like, how do you create a story universe?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because even with Mickey Mouse, he's not anything. He's just a symbol. Like Bugs, like Bugs Bunny is their symbol. He's like, what's the still? It would pretty much be moving.
SPEAKER_07But I don't think there's a I don't think there's any any main source material of some giant story. I think that's why they had to make space. I'm about to send you a lot of information about moving channels and stuff. So you can't.
SPEAKER_01I mean, each character does have kind of like lore to it that it touches on in certain episodes.
SPEAKER_07Right, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's just very strong. Lovie channels is just very strong.
SPEAKER_07Once it comes to a certain point, if you make movies based on these little bite-sized like canon of each characters, eventually you'd have to become like Space Jam, where you bring them all together. You make up your own reason for them. Because Marvel the Martian is like around Duck Dodgers in the 21st and a half century, whatever. Yeah. Like the future version of Duck Dodgers or whatever. It's like that, that's its own thing. Elmer Fudd and uh uh Bugs Bunny are in their own thing. To bring them together, they wouldn't really that wouldn't really happen, I don't think. So you have to be double.
SPEAKER_01But the way this movie is set up is perfect for Wiley Coyote's, you know, history because Yeah, it's kind of funny. I thought the promise uses all the acme shit. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like he's suing the company because none of their stuff works. The casting road or like, I don't know. That's kind of stupid.
SPEAKER_05I'm like, all right, we'll definitely be at theaters when this comes out on is scheduled to be released on August 28th, 2026. So again, with us being on the podcast, everything can change. So we will give you an updated date whenever that they decide to come out with the movie. So, but I'm excited. Um uh Wiley E. Coyote, Roadrunner, all of that, man. So um, yeah. Looks like it's gonna be a good time. Uh the budget was 70 to 72 million. Wow, okay.
SPEAKER_07Um I said release the bat girl cut.
SPEAKER_05I think it'll come out eventually. That is um that is it for our list. Um, we got the Salmos review, but uh and what's Jan Pasta cooking with, but I feel like Salmos.
SPEAKER_07He's been giving his review the whole episode. Hey, hey, hey Okay, what's our what's our review? We we saw a couple movies though. What's the imposta cooking? Let's let's let's go around the movies for reviews. Lee Cronin's the mummy. Yeah, what are we all given this? What are what are we thinking?
SPEAKER_04I think I'm standing firm on my six.
SPEAKER_07Okay. I'm gonna are we do can we do points? I really think it deserves this. I think I'm going if I can do points, I'll do six point five. If I can't, I might go down to a six.
SPEAKER_04Um yeah, yeah, we can do points. I I I don't like to do points, but I will do it.
SPEAKER_07I don't really like it either, but like I feel like this one is right in between six. Okay, I'll get it. Don't hit it, don't hit it. That's it, that's all I was saying. Because I was like, oh, it's a seven, but then I the first thing I heard from a movie reviewer was You don't want any unnecessary movements. And then they brought that bitch up the stairs like she was a ton of pranks.
SPEAKER_04Dude, literally, and the thing is, it's so funny. It's the first time I watched this movie, I was you if you guys saw my review you saw it. First time I watched it, I was like, this is awesome. I had such a good time. I was like, I got scared, and I was like, oh, or and it was like good scares, good creative, whatever. I saw it the second time. I brought my friends, brought my boys. We went to see it. We did. I'm excited. One thing happens. Says whatever, no spoilers, or do we should we say spoilers?
SPEAKER_05Go ahead. It's been alpha.
SPEAKER_04The mummy spoilers spoilers ahead. The bug crawls out of the girl's mouth.
SPEAKER_02And Mario leans over to me, he's like, What is it?
SPEAKER_07Is that because the because they could because they make it seem like the the movie really picks and chooses how this shit spreads because it's like the scarab entered her mouth and then left her mouth because it already left its mark and all this, and it's like, oh, this infects communities. And it's like, well, you this where's the fucking scarab? It's like, no, now it's she's infects them with the what does the scarab do?
SPEAKER_04It makes her pass out and then they have to go and perform the ritual?
SPEAKER_07I think the scarab And then it leaves? But then this it's like the scarab only infects like the main host and then they spread the disease. But then I'm thinking, okay, if that if that person dies, do you have to go get more scarabs?
SPEAKER_04And how do you Where does the scarab? And then how do you spread the disease?
SPEAKER_02But anyway, anyway, Mario leans over to me, goes, What? And then for the rest of the movie, I'm like, my eyes are like open, and I'm like, wow, this movie actually is kind of dumb.
SPEAKER_05Oh, my my point system, I'm gonna give it, I'm standing real like six out of ten. I'm gonna give it a six out of ten. Yeah. Um, just because there were some parts I was just like, I what is this? And then that fucking wheelchair, that fucking wheel, bruh. It was just so unnecessary to me. But yeah, I'm gonna give it a six out of ten. Um, yes, the mummy. Uh let's see, what did I see? Um I already talked about the drama. I gave that.
SPEAKER_06Did you see Heat? Did I see who? Did you see Heat?
SPEAKER_07The movie we said we were H-E-A-T, Robert De Niro, 1995, Bank Robber movie. The stuff. Dude, I said we were going to. Oh shit, we did say that.
SPEAKER_05No, I didn't watch Heat. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02Get the fuck out of that movie.
SPEAKER_05I'm sorry. Wait a minute. Wait a minute, Mario.
SPEAKER_02What's it on, Mario?
SPEAKER_07Next episode. No, next episode.
SPEAKER_02Because I gotta I'll watch it tonight.
SPEAKER_07Did you watch it? What's it on? Uh it is on, I think I watched it on Amazon Prime with Yeah, it's on Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime.
SPEAKER_05Well, so next episode we'll come back and we'll talk about Heat, Robert De Niro, all of that. Cool. Um went to go see Michael. Um, well, before that, the the drama, if you haven't seen it yet, I think it's still in theaters, Zenday, Robert Patterson. Um, I gave it a 7 out of 10. I thought it was really good.
SPEAKER_06Um, I think seven out of ten.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. But I also seen Michael, and I am going to give that a 10 out of 10 because I am such a Michael Jackson fan, and I feel like they did a really good service with the movie. Now, I don't care what the fucking critics say, the audience score, the audience, and what the way they felt about that. Oh, yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I thought critics gave it a good score. They didn't give it a good score. It's like 53 or something.
SPEAKER_05But the audience meter is like 90 something. So I, yeah, yeah. 10 out of 10, Michael. Samos, I just seen your video, which you gotta send to me. Um, what did you think?
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. I will say I said 8 out of 10. Yeah. Fantastic, super good. The entire movie is just if you like Michael Jackson, you're gonna like this movie. Um, and like my my gripes with it are just like whatever. Like, yeah, I I I do wish that it went a little more in depth and took its time a little bit with the story. But the thing is, there's just so much.
SPEAKER_05It's a lot, it is a lot to do. It's a lot to get through.
SPEAKER_04And even though it does just like touch on a bunch of subjects, at least it touched them. You know what I'm saying? At least it went through them. But it's like if they were doing a second, if if they are doing a second movie, it would feel I feel like it would be it'd feel better just to be like, okay, let's take our time with this. And then that way I f I and me personally, I feel like it would make his home, his like good moments or his highlights hit more because it's like you were in the dirt with him, even though I feel like they portrayed his father pretty pretty well, or like yeah, his father, yeah, his father was portrayed really good by Coleman uh Domingo. So yeah, he did he did really good. He did really good. But the music was all good, he sounded like him, he looked like him, he danced like him. And then I was another thing I was I don't know, is it spoiler? It's not spoilers, I don't care. Like the concert scenes where there's people like in the crowd at his concerts and they're screaming. They're crying or whatever. I was like, I was wondering did the studio just get the actor, dress him up? He looks just like he looks very much like Michael Jackson. Did they just dress him up? And he sounds like Michael Jackson. That's his nephew. Did they just dress him up? That's his nephew. Yeah, that's his nephew. Did they just dress him up, put him with a band, throw him on stage, and just have him perform? And now all these people who are Michael Jackson fans who never got to see Michael Jackson because they're all you know younger are freaking out and crying. Low key, I'd probably be crying if I was in that crowd. Because I'm like, wow, there he is.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Michael Jackson. Yeah. It's him doing the moonwalk in the outfit, doing the dances with the band, singing. Because those like the people in the crowd were going crazy.
SPEAKER_05And I was like, they're probably going to be able to actually put like they're throwing dance parties in the fucking theaters. Like it is crazy. I remember when we left, people were like at their seats dancing. Like, and this is like 10 minutes after the movie, like went away. Like it was over. And honestly, the spirit of Michael Jackson and what he brought to this world is crazy. The biggest artist ever. There will never be another Michael Jackson. And yeah.
SPEAKER_07100%.
SPEAKER_01Prince movie coming next.
SPEAKER_05The Prince movie coming next. Nah.
SPEAKER_01Purple. It's gonna be called Purple Rain. It's gonna be called. I'll say it's called Purple Rain.
SPEAKER_05The Prince Estate will never let that happen. They will, they are very, very private.
SPEAKER_07Um I can't wait till the Marvin Gay biopic where it's just them suing everybody.
SPEAKER_05They're probably gonna sue us too, Mario. Thank you for that.
SPEAKER_04The movie, print uh Prince's movie, Purple Rain. It's a real movie. 1984.
SPEAKER_05Exactly. But they so have they made a movie since?
SPEAKER_04Music and music and romance. Nope. No, I think he's dead. Prince dead? Prince Prince.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, he died in 1918. No, 16. Yeah. He died a while ago.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Mario, so what's what's your movies? Because I honestly I'm gonna go see the Super Mario Galaxy movie tomorrow. Um I saw that it was a lot.
SPEAKER_04Take a bunch of edibles and watch it. You're gonna have a blast.
SPEAKER_07It was it was a fun time, but I I'd say it was like a I'd say it was like the whole eat the whole eat the whole bag, sit in the front seat.
SPEAKER_04It was just yeah. Just stare at all the bright colors of the city. I'll tell you what. Have a good time.
SPEAKER_07Story or not, I was entertained. Okay. Okay. I was entertained. Story or not, I was entertained.
SPEAKER_04Which definitely not, but what? Definitely no story. No, definitely not. No story. Nothing.
SPEAKER_07It was like it was a fairly average film in in terms of story. Yeah. In terms of entertainment. I was, I mean, I was blue. Cool fight scenes, cool visuals. It was a lot of setup, but I mean it was cool. It was good stuff. Um, what else? Uh I saw Heat. It was good. We'll talk about it later.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um, I saw Um The Mummy One. He-Man. Uh, this movie's not out. No. I know you say every time you say Heat, I just think He-Man is. I saw He-Man. Um, no, uh, those are the movies I've seen, man. Um I'm excited to go. Cops Watch. I need to watch Michael soon, so maybe I'll talk about that.
SPEAKER_05But um upcoming movies that are coming out. Um Hokum will be released on May 1st. I'm watching.
SPEAKER_04I am watching that May 1st.
SPEAKER_05I'm gonna go see it. Oh, May 1st? You want to go see it together? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yes, I'm seeing it in Murfreesboro, though, if you want to come with me.
SPEAKER_05I I mean, I'll be off so I can definitely um. Who else wants to go see Hokum? Hold on, where is theater? What theater?

SPEAKER_07Dude, why did I that name sounds familiar? Or something is The Deffy Brothers produced it, yes.
SPEAKER_04Yes, the Duffel Brothers are producing it, which means nothing. They made two good movies, and that was it. Alright, moving on. Oh, wait, no, the Duffel Brothers. Wait, which ones are the Duffer Brothers?
SPEAKER_05Those ones that made it Stranger Things.
SPEAKER_04Ah, okay. I was getting them confused with the other brothers that did Avengers. Russo Brothers. The Loser Brothers. Those guys.
SPEAKER_01Speaking of Russo Brothers, I've been catching up on from it just dropped. The new season just came out season four. Fire. Russo Brothers, brother. Whatever they touched. Start off from.

SPEAKER_07Oh.
SPEAKER_04I thought, you know what?
SPEAKER_07I thought Electric State got way too much shit. That being said, why did it cost $350 million?
SPEAKER_04Well, I feel like because of all the effects, but for me, it was like wrong directors for the style that that that where that story is from, I would have picked someone like Chappie's director or like District 9.
SPEAKER_07Yes, like District 9 or like Dune or Blade Runner 2014. They can't get those movies.
SPEAKER_03Like aesthetics. Well, I guess they got the Russo Bros, but they got the Luriser Brothers and they paid how much money for this movie anybody.
SPEAKER_05You're right, you're right, you're right. They could get who's going to be able to do that. I don't know what the fuck is that. It's Netflix, they get who's going to be able to do that.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_07Godzilla minus one.
SPEAKER_05We're talking about, we're talking about budget. Yeah, you mean Godzilla minus Cero CI. I mean uh um, you know, the CGI and all of that bullshit. All I have to do is.
SPEAKER_07Well yeah, they cost one 15 mil. Oh, for you, you are right. Minus one was only 15 mil. It's out there. Um bitch. I haven't watched that on our TV.
SPEAKER_05Speaking of Godzilla.
